vienne's POV
Time flew fast.
And it was the end of school for the day again..
I was seated at the main bowl with my tutor student with notes sprawled between us. I don't plan on lengthening today's tutorial session; I want to get this done real quick and be on my way home.
I threw a glance at the figure seated before me lazily as though he was lounging with one of his hands propped under his head.
At that moment, I got lost while taking in his pronounced features. I enviously eyed his well shaped brows and longer lashes, his forest green eyes ran across the wordings on the note.
Quite exquisite.
The peeking scar didn't even seem to reduce the value of his look, instead it looked more manly; curiosity at what might have caused that was almost about to get the best of me.
Suddenly, his brows scrunched up in something like slight irritation. And his eyes snapped up at me.
I almost choked.
“What?” His tone was a bit clipped.
“What's what?”
“Stop being so creepy.” He grumbled out lowly ”I'm trying to get all these but you're practically boring a hole into my forehead”
“Tsk” it was my turn to scowl at him. The shock and embarrassment would not let me back down or settle for defeat. “You should feel honored. I don't usually do this. What's the big deal in looking at your face?”
“Hm” he hummed out dismissively like he couldn't be bothered with a lying kid before going back to the note and I realized how I must have been seeming like a distraction. He was making an effort in getting the concept of what I had explained.
Right at the moment, my phone rang with a notification.
‘Friend? Where are you?’_ Grace
I tilted my head, wondering if and why I should tell her where I am
‘What do you want?’_ Vienne
‘Oh. Nevermind, I think I should find you soon. You'd see me soon. ' Grace.
And that was almost creepy.
I looked round, hoping to spot her figure standing somewhere close but I didn't. I scoffed.
Good luck finding me then.
A few seconds passed and my phone dinged once more and I gritted my teeth, cursing this forced friendship already. Wouldn't Grace let me be??
I reached for my phone, expecting a message from Grace again. But I got the shock of my life at the moment.
My heart beat quickened.
I sucked in breath as I stared at the message that had come from Ryan.
‘Are you trying to embarrass yourself by going around with that scholarship kid?
You'd better stop whatever it is you're doing’_ Ryan.
She could read the venom along the lines.
It's been ages since she had him in her DM.
Of course, her reaction had caused a curious frown on Damon's face as he stared at her expectingly, patiently waiting for her to tell him what's going on.
And she did turn to him.
“It's working” she almost cried out in a whisper.
“Would you believe who just texted me?? Ryan just texted me, Calloway. I knew this would all work out” she squealed out the last part as she threw her arms around him in an embrace, unrestrained.
The time practically froze.
She could hear the crickets.
And then thundering at the same time.
It went unrealistically quiet between them as her arms seemed frozen around him at the moment. Realizing her situation and what she had done, her cheeks and neck heated up in embarrassment.
Why can't I move??
“Reyes…” his cello, measured voice seemed to have dropped low.
“Hm?” I had some nerve to questioningly hum at him with my arms still wrapped around him.
“When are you going to get off and stop molesting me?” He gritted out.
“Oh_” I began. But,
“Oh!!” Someone else squealed out my response and that seemed to have brought back my senses as I scrambled off and away from Damon. I looked up at who had come over and I wanted to snap.
I had doubted her finding me, but Grace stood a few meters from us, grinning at our situation.
“You could have just told me you were with him”
“What is it, Grace?”
“Come on, there is nothing to be embarrassed about” she cheerfully said before handing out to me two cream-filled doughnuts. “Heard you were not able to have lunch because of some pest. I brought this. This is me looking out for my friend” she grinned.
“I don't want it”
“I don't care. I insist”
And that had me giving her a skeptical look.
“Is it poisoned?”
“Your boyfriend is here, and why would I openly give you something poisoned. I would not want to implicate myself” she dropped the doughnuts into my lap before turning on her heels. “See you later, friend.”
With that she was gone.
Leaving me alone with my earlier abandoned mess.
I couldn't even find it in me to argue with Calloway. Yes, he won, I was molesting him.
I dared not look at his face as I packed all the books between us, stuffed them in my bag along with the doughnuts and I was on my way to escape my shame.
Without looking back
