Vienne's POV I had no intention of peeing or using the restroom. I just wanted a good show. Ha! Amelia's cold glances at Grace at intervals throughout the chemistry class had hinted at something nice after the period. God help her, if she tries something with the poor girl… my eyes narrowed at the thought of getting physical with Amelia. “What do you think you're doing?!” The familiar and sickening voice of Amelia rang through the walls of a deserted corridor on the second floor. I stood behind a corner and peeped. Of course she was with one of her minion as they attempt to corner Grace. In contrast to what I had expected, Grace stared back at her pointedly, with no trace of cowering. “What do you mean, Amelia? What are you talking about?” “Stop playing dumb. What do you think you're doing switching seats with Vienne? She paid you huh? That's all she does anyways, thinking money would solve everything” “I still don't understand your rant Amelia.” Grace frowned. “Why would you switch seats with Vienne out of the blue?” “What is it to you?!!” She yelled back in mortification and I resisted the urge to laugh out. “Is it yours? Is the seat yours?” She continued “when you switched seats with Ryan's seat partner no one threw a tantrum. Stop being so annoying and unbelievable!” “What?” Amelia scoffed “wait, why are you even talking back at me. You shouldn't be talking when I'm talking, dummy” “why? Who do you think you are Amelia? Tsk. For as long as I can remember, all you've done is covet people's things and hide behind people's shadow. First it was Vienne, now Ryan. You think dating Ryan Knox now makes you something?” “You should watch your tongue, girl” her minion stepped before her, taking an intimidating stance. But Grace was not planning to back down as she stepped forward too “Or what? Hit me? We're all going to bleed then. Besides, you just wouldn't want to, the CCTV is always on and active” she motioned at the device hanging at a top corner. Amelia finally let a creepy slow smile form on her lips as she cooly regarded Grace. “How much did she pay you? I'll pay you double” “You can't buy me” Grace scoffed. “I can definitely pay back whatever you'd offer, thrice too. On a more serious note, why do you want her back on that seat? It's not like you two are still friends or you're looking out for her” she laughed. But nothing was funny to Amelia and her friend. “Let me just confess. I actually would lose nothing and gain nothing from my seat exchange. I'm just rooting for Calloway and Vienne. Don't they look like cute and good together?” She giggled “so they should sit together. Just like you and Ryan, don't you think?” Her smile widening for reasons I could not comprehend. Amelia's internal struggles could be seen even from where I hid as she lightly fumed with a grimace on her face. “Trust me, I won't forget this and I'd get back at you” she spat before turning on her heels and heading away, down the stairs with her friend. Grace scoffed. “crazy”. With that she exhaled with folded arms. That's when I chose to step out of my hiding, and almost immediately she let out harshly without even turning around to see who it was. “What? You forgot something? A slap from me??” She turned around and her mouth formed an ‘oh’ She must have thought it was Amelia again. “Relax, it's just me” She frowned. “You've been there the whole time?” “Yes. Mad I didn't attempt to come to your rescue?” I stepped before her. “It's my fight. I was ready and preparing for her, ‘cause I knew she'd come running along. Isn't she predictable?” she scoffed. I nodded. “I wouldn't apologize for what she did or whatever she said to you, Grace. Instead, I hope it spikes whatever grievances or annoyances you have against her. Go all out on her and attack when necessary” I raised a brow, muttering my mind out to her. Grace let out a tiny laugh, causing me to frown. “I'm being serious” It isn't funny anymore. Amelia Dawn seems hell bent on humiliating me this year and I'm not going to sit around. “You need not tell me, Vienne” I folded my arms across my chest before narrowing my eyes at her now. Nothing goes for nothing. “Why did you do that?” “Do what?” “The seat exchange. I might have accepted in the heat of the moment, it doesn't stop me from wondering what you wanted in return” “Oh! That. Trust me, no ulterior motives” “I don't want to believe that” “Or.. maybe I'm just rooting for you and Damon. You two look good together, trust me.” She squealed out the last part giddily and I almost cringed. “Here” she pulled out her phone and showed me a picture of me and Damon on some group chat again. That was from the morning, at the lot. Heat rushed to my cheeks upon the flashback. I hadn't realized how close I had gotten with him then, while he towered over me. “Did Damon pay you instead, then?” “He barely talks to anyone,” she scoffed. “I doubt if he even recognizes me even after being his seat partner for a year. You two actually look good together. Let me ship, how about #Cavie?” I grimaced “more like cavities”. She snorted before pausing. “Or… wait. Maybe I actually wanted something” I knew it. “Let’s be friends.” She blurted and before I knew it, she snatched my phone like my former grip on it was nothing. “No. I'm done with friends.” Amelia taught him more than enough lessons. I scowled as I watched her type frantically over my phone. “Say something else” I reached for my cellphone which she released. “That's what I want. I exchanged our contacts too, friend.” She taunted with a giggle. “See you around” she hollered before walking off like she didn't just act crazy. Just then, my phone buzzed. “Mon ami” the text read and it's no brainer guessing who it was.
