When do I geta Chance?

Vienne's POV And of course, over the years, Amelia had made multiple attempts proving to be my nemesis. “Look who we've got here…” The mischievous voice of Alex snapped me out of my flashback and I threw him a look. “If it isn't Vienne Reyes.” I couldn't be bothered about him. I have no business with him and don't plan to, as I have done so well staying away from him since two years ago. His blue eyes glinted while his tiny lips were pulled into a smirk. We were almost the same height then. Now, he towered over me. Not like Damon though. The guy's way taller. I squinted my eyes at myself, wondering why and how Damon could run into my thoughts right now. “When you've had enough staring at me, let me know, love.” I scoffed at the smug look on his face. Quite disturbing. Why was I even standing for that long? “I was just wondering where you came out from.” I frowned at him. “The music teacher had called me over. No harm in asking, I would gladly tell you. Would not mind sharing with you my whereabouts from now on anyways” “No thanks.” How did we get here? He was taking it too far. I stepped aside, ready to walk away but a careful grip on my arm had pulled me back, my smoothie almost spilling off. Alex adjusted his glasses, placing his violin case before him like he was ready for a serious conversation. “When do I get a chance, Vienne? It been two years” It took a while for me to get what he was talking about. “Good thing I never promised you ‘a chance’ before Alex. Forget about me. Pretend I never exist too. Thank you” “That's nowhere near possible. I've waited for you for two years. But you have no excuse now; that Knox boy is out of my way. Out of our way. Give us a chance.” His voice carried subtle helplessness. I fought the urge to scrunch up my nose instead. This kind of person, it would take a while to prove a point to them. “It's just a little fallout between me and Ryan” “And I see no wrong in taking advantage of your so-called fallout.” “Alex.” I gave up. “It's better you realize this early. Even if Ryan and I don't get back together, we can't have any_” “Why?” He suddenly cut in sharply. His tone got edgy and I subconsciously took a step backward. “Is it because of that scholarship kid? You've been going around with him after breaking up with Ryan, but I want to believe it's just a fling and something of the moment between you too.” He continued. And an amused scoff escaped my lips. Who does he think he is? He took a step forward, towards me and I stepped back feeling a bit threatened and wary of him all of a sudden. “Even he got a chance with you. What makes me less qualified then?” His voice low, sounding annoyed. For reasons I don't know why and I was getting mad too. First, he had the nerve to use that tone on me and then lay his hands on me, spewing what's not with some sense of entitlement. “Well, get your hands off me.” I stood my ground, staring back into his eyes. “Whoever I'm relating with is none of your concern, Monroe. Are you forgetting your place? We have no business together. Where is this coming from?” I almost snapped at him with another attempt to pull my arm out of his grip. Another futile attempt. His tongue poked his inner cheek as he adjusted his stance. His eyes roamed over my face once more as if keeping his earlier misbehavior in check. But his fingers still gripped my arm like some vice. *Fine. It's my bad. You_” “Reyes?” A measured voice had drawled out, cutting off whatever Alex was going to say. It was guarded; almost uncertain but ready to take control when necessary. Damon stood a few feet from us, his eyes trained on Alex's grip before they strayed away to my face. Deciding I have had enough of Alex, I tried yanking my arm again but the guy had it in him to pull me closer to him. Right before running into him, another force had pulled me back. It had me wondering how that could have happened. I found myself standing behind Calloway in the blink of an eye. He had pulled me away from Alex. And now, he subtly clenched his teeth, while having a dark stare down with him. “What are you doing? Go away. No one called you here.” Alex's voice was almost dry like he wasn't making me uncomfortable just a while ago. “The question should be what the f**k are you doing, holding onto her against her will?” I chose that time to slip my hand into his. “Where have you been Damon? Did you get my text?” sweetly conveying to him like an affectionate girlfriend should, I gripped onto his fingers, coveting the warmth from it. “Yeah. And I said I'm coming over. Wasn't expecting to have you in some random guy's grip” he played along with a reply and not sparing a look at Alex. “Let's just go,” I said, ready to leave Monroe's presence. He had creeped me out enough for today. Damon got the memo immediately as he turned on his heels with me. “And where are you going with her?” I wanted to scream so loud at Alex in bewilderment. What was his problem?? “Damon is my boyfriend and that should be enough reason for you to leave me alone Monroe.” I snapped before almost sprinting off with Damon. I could almost feel the not so friendly gaze of someone burning through the back of our skull…
