Kord pulled up to the Passyunk Avenue home where Gary’s cousin lived. It was a new development in an older part of town. A wave of gay men and lesbians continued moving into this storied South Philly neighborhood, trying to reinvigorate that corner of town. Some had thought this would be the beginning of a gayer South Philly. But it wasn’t panning out the way people had hoped. Kord pulled into a parking space and was congratulating himself until he saw a neighbor peering angrily from the window of a house.
