FOUND HIM

THE DRAGON TWINS' FATED MATE CHAPTER ONE STARWRITES The Dragon Kingdom had not known peace since the moment the twins sensed their mate. Three days. Three entire days. And Kael had not slept. Not properly. Every time he closed his eyes, the bond pulsed. Every time he tried to focus on royal duties, Umbra reminded him that somewhere in the human world, their mate existed. Waiting. Unclaimed. Unprotected. The dragon was becoming increasingly unbearable. Find him. "I am trying." Not fast enough. Kael resisted the urge to throw something. Across the kingdom, matters weren't much better for Lucien. The younger twin had become impossible to deal with. Not that he had been easy before. But now? Now he was driving everyone insane. Especially his brother. "I found him." Kael looked up from the report he had been pretending to read. Lucien burst into the office without knocking. Again. His golden hair was a mess. His amber eyes practically glowed. And judging by the triumphant grin on his face, he had discovered something important. Kael set the report aside. "What did you find?" Lucien dropped several files onto the desk. Paperwork scattered everywhere. Normally, Kael would have complained. Today he ignored it. TH CHAPTER TWO STARWRITES His attention was already fixed on the photograph lying on top. A young man stared back at him. Dark hair. Sharp features. Intelligent eyes. A white button-up shirt rolled neatly to his elbows. There was nothing particularly extraordinary about him. Nothing that suggested he had just thrown an entire kingdom into chaos. Yet the moment Kael saw him The bond pulsed. Hard. Mate. His breath caught. Umbra immediately became alert. Him. Kael couldn't disagree. Every instinct inside him recognized the young man instantly. Jordan Hayes. Their mate. His. Theirs. Lucien dropped into the chair opposite him. "Told you I'd find him." Kael barely heard him. He couldn't stop staring at the photograph. Jordan looked annoyed. Apparently someone had taken the picture without permission. Good. For some reason, Kael liked that. Lucien leaned forward. "He's twenty." Kael remained silent. "Archaeology student." Still silent. "Third year." Silence. "Human." That got a reaction. Kael finally looked away from the photograph. Human. The word felt wrong. Very wrong. He couldn't explain it. Nothing in Jordan's records suggested otherwise. Human parents. Human birthplace. Human education. Human everything. Yet something deep inside him refused to accept it. Umbra felt the same. Not human. Kael frowned. The dragon had repeated that statement countless times over the past three days. Each time with complete certainty. Not human. Then what was he? Lucien suddenly groaned. "Can we leave now?" "No." "Kael." "No." "Kael." "No." Lucien slumped dramatically. "You are impossible." "And you're impatient." "Our mate is over there." Kael pinched the bridge of his nose. "Our mate doesn't know we exist." "So let's introduce ourselves." "Normally." Lucien rolled his eyes. "You're boring." The office door opened. Both twins immediately straightened. The Dragon King entered. Their mother followed closely behind. The Queen's silver eyes landed on the photograph. Her expression softened instantly. "So that's him." Lucien nodded. "Our mate." The Queen smiled. "He looks kind." Kael looked back at the photograph. Kind. Maybe. Stubborn too. He could somehow tell. The Dragon King moved closer. His gaze lingered on Jordan's image. Then his expression darkened. Interesting. Very interesting. Kael immediately noticed. "What?" The King's eyes narrowed. "Do you feel it?" Lucien blinked. "Feel what?" The older dragon remained silent for several moments. Then he looked directly at his sons. "His scent." The room went quiet. Kael's heartbeat accelerated. Because now that his father mentioned it There was something unusual about it. Something hidden beneath the mate bond. Something ancient. Something familiar. The Dragon King's expression grew serious. "I've encountered that scent before." The words sent a chill through the room. Lucien frowned. "When?" The King looked toward the distant mountains beyond the palace windows. "A very long time ago." Neither twin liked the sound of that. Before either could ask another question, a sharp pain suddenly tore through Lucien. "Shit." He doubled over. His chair crashed to the floor. Kael stood immediately. "Lucien." The younger twin's breathing became uneven. The bond. It was reacting again. No. Not reacting. Demanding. Mate. Sol's voice thundered through Lucien's mind. Find him. Now. The dragon was losing patience. Three days had already pushed him beyond his limit. The realization hit Kael almost immediately. Lucien wasn't the only one struggling. He had simply hidden it better. The bond was getting stronger. Much stronger. Every day Jordan remained unaware made it worse. Umbra growled. Dangerously. Kael clenched his jaw. Because for the first time since finding their mate— He felt it too. A sharp ache in his chest. Longing. Need. Instinct. The desire to stand beside their mate. Protect him. Touch him. Know him. The feeling frightened him. Because it was growing. And he had no idea how long they could continue resisting it. The Queen noticed immediately. Her expression softened. "You need to go." Kael looked at her. "Mother—" "You've found your mate." The Dragon King nodded. "There's no reason to remain here." Lucien immediately stood upright. His suffering vanished. "Finally." Kael glared at him. Lucien ignored him. As usual. The King folded his arms. "You will enter the human world." Lucien looked delighted. "You will not reveal yourselves immediately." Lucien looked offended. "You will not kidnap your mate." Lucien looked even more offended. "I wasn't going to—" "Lucien." "Fine." Nobody believed him. Not even slightly. The meeting ended shortly afterward. Preparations began immediately. By sunset tomorrow, the twins would leave the kingdom. By sunset tomorrow, they would finally meet Jordan. And for some reason, that thought made Kael's pulse race. Far away, Jordan sneezed. He looked around his empty dorm room suspiciously. "Someone's talking about me." His roommate glanced up from his laptop. "Or you're getting sick." Jordan frowned. Maybe. Lately he hadn't been sleeping well. The dreams were getting worse. More vivid. More real. Last night he had almost seen the dragon. Almost. The memory lingered. Those strange violet eyes. That massive silver silhouette hidden within the clouds. Every night the dream felt closer. Every night the dragon seemed to be trying to reach him. Jordan shook his head. Definitely stress. It had to be. What else could it be? Dragons weren't real. Unfortunately for Jordan Hayes They were. And they were already on their way.
