NEVE NEVETime had never flowed as slowly as it did at the Alpha Council Security Station. I sat on the cheap plastic chair in the waiting area where Bane had left me. I didn’t dare to move as I watched the slow crawl of the hands on the wall clock opposite. I didn’t even dare to look around. The place was filled with alphas, their scents thick in the air, making me feel nauseated. A whine rose in the back of my throat, trying to escape my lips, but I clamped them shut. The last thing I needed to do here was draw attention to myself. Not with all these alphas around.
