Having come to a mutual agreement that the good doctor might not be so good after all the two of them waited till after dinner when everyone would be in recreation before sneaking back to the library. As they darted down the bare shadow drenched hall Benny held on to her hand as a show of reassurance. Ella seemed to duck and hide at every sound, more so if they sounded man made. Though worried Benny was far angry and had every intention of finding a way to get her out. He hadn’t told her, there had been more urgent matters, but he was due for release in the next two days and come hell or high water he was going to get her out before then. There was not a chance, knowing what they knew now, that he was leaving her behind. She was number one priority and then he would sink the good doctor and this place right along with him. The two ran into the library as quickly and quietly as possible and shut the door behind them. Benny took hold of her hand again and they made their way into the tiny computer room in the back. Once inside Benny barricaded a chair in front of the door and after taking his seat started up the dinosaur and brought up the hack screen. By the time he brought up the doctors desktop Ella seemed to be back to her old self though now she was a little more pissed. During their track to the library the thought of the doctor’s betrayal buried into Ella’s mind and she was slowly getting on board with Benny’s escape plan. When it came to that however she couldn’t be afraid, she would have to not only run but survive and fear was not going to do her an ounce of good. Ella stood behind Benny’s chair as he went through the doctor’s emails. “There would have to be some kind of grant or permission from some kind of board or something. This p...p...place doesn’t h...h...have a licence or d...d...d...documentation for that k...kind of t...t...t..treatment.” Ella didn’t say a word. They didn’t find any kind of permission but what they did find was several emails between Dr. Meer and a man name Prince. “Yatzee.” Benny called out. The name further cemented the belief that the whole thing was insidious. Dr. Falmer Prince was notorious for his cruel treatment of patients and tough there had been several inquisitions into not only him but his establishment nothing could ever be proven. One of the emails went as far as Prince saying ‘If the girl is only getting worse then there is no need for anyone to know’. Then there was the one where Meer agreed and went on to say that he would keep Prince updated. Benny knew Ella would not take this further, she was already vulnerable and would be too hesitant out of fear of repercussions resembling what had already happened. He however was far less forgiving and feared no such consequences. He minimised the emails and accessed the patient files. Two files drew their attention immediately, one being Ella’s and the other belonging to Frank who was due for electroshock therapy. Also thanks to information given by Prince. While Benny went over her file with a fine toothed comb trying to find any kind of grant permission for what they had done to her, Ella wondered how this had gone right past her. If she could predict all the s**t she has in the past how could she not have seen this coming. Then she remembered. She had once dreamt of being locked in a dark room where a crowd of people were chained to the walls and, her being unchained, begged her for help. How typical. The one thing she forgot. Benny sat backwards bringing Ella back to her senses “Well?” She leaned forward to get a better view of the files on screen even though it didn’t tell her anything she didn’t already know. “Nothing.” Benny crossed his arms on his chest, neither being truly surprised. That was probably also the reason the orderlies had that air of guilt wrapped around their necks. Ella sat on the edge of the table and stared down at her feet. “What do we do now?” Benny sat forward. “First things first. We find you a way out.” As he tipped away at the keyboard Ella looked up at him. “You don’t seriously think I would go anywhere and leave you and everyone ells at that man’s mercy?” She folded her arms and stared at him but he was far too busy to pay her scolding eyes any notice. “That brings us to secondly.” He had the smile he usually had when what he was up to something bordering on the illegal. She was curious when he didn’t go into detail but didn’t particularly want any involvement in it, she was already over stepping a boundary being here, let’s not go into their little prison break. Who was she kidding, she was already buried, might as well go down with the satisfaction of knowing what was to come. Benny hacked his way into the administrations email and attached all the correspondence between the two doctors. Once he was done he forwarded the email to every address on the system, which included but was not limited to suppliers, medical board, next of kin of patients and legal guardians. When he was done he sat back with his hands clasped behind his head, very proud of his work. The two of them watched as one email after the other left the outbox and showed proof of delivery. “Now for your escape, which may turn out to be easier than we first though.” Benny brought up the doctors schedule and found that there was a group outing planned for tomorrow. They would be going to some or other gallery. A large place where it would be easy for someone to hide until opportunity for escape presented itself. The two smiled. The only thing that made this so much better was that by the time she was out tomorrow this place would already be crumbling. More than a little chuffed with themselves they logged out and turned off the computer before sneaking back up the hall which now seemed allot less gray. They headed straight to bed. Tomorrow was going to be a hell of a day and they needed their rest.
