Ch. 12

The next morning Jena gathered a small bag of clothes to take with her to her cousins after work. After the way she had been feeling last night, she didn’t want to risk coming home and packing a bag later. It would be best to leave straight from work and head over there. She could lock herself in a room and let the heat take her if she needed it to. There weren’t going to be any horny single Alpha’s around that she was aware of. 

Already thinking about Steven and Shawn made her heat up in anticipation. What would it be like to lay with them together in bed? She gripped the steering wheel tightly and tried to clear her mind and focus. She had a meeting at noon and she needed to be ready for it. 

At work she managed to clear her mind and focus on the task at hand. She got to the meeting and everything went over well with Cloud and it felt good to have accomplished something. She felt like it had been a while since she felt like she did something meaningful. 

After the meeting she was returning to her office when she spotted James walking into the lobby. He spotted her and approached her. “Good afternoon.” He said to her. 

She gave him a small smile, “good afternoon. What brings you in here?” She asked. 

“To see you.” He stated. 

“I am working.” She said to him. 

“I thought you could use a small break. I brought you something to drink.” He handed her a fruity little drink. “Do you have a few minutes where we could talk for a bit?” He asked her. 

“I thought our next date was set for Saturday?” She asked curiously. 

He shrugged, “it is. But I thought it would be good to learn a little more about each other before then.”

She mentally sighed and signaled for him to follow her up to her office. 

Inside he looked around, “this place is amazing.” 

He sat down on one of the couches in the corner and she walked over and sat down across from him and put her bag down. “What do you do during that day?” She asked him curiously, jumping right into the questions. She still didn’t feel comfortable around him. It wasn’t like what she felt like with the twins. It still felt like something else was going on with him. Like he was more than meets the eye. What was he hiding from her?

“I trade stocks during the day. It doesn’t require my attention all the time.” He stated. 

She knew a little about stocks and asked him a few more questions about what types of stocks he traded in and if he had any bonds. 

James went over a few things that he always stayed invested in and then changed to subject to one of the businesses that were starting to take off and started going on about that venture. “They are going to do well I am sure. I plan on being an investor to help them take off. Maybe it’s something you could look into when you have a spare moment. I am sure you will like what they are doing and the direction they plan on going in. It would be a wise investment.”

“I will look into it later.” She told him. There was something about his story that just didn’t add up. Although he had some knowledge, she felt as though someone who was strictly an investor would be more passionate about investing instead of just focusing on a single company.

“I see that you have been busy recently.” He stated. 

She nodded, “I just finished closing a major deal and you caught me on my way back in.” She said, taking a sip of her drink. She didn’t care too much for it and sat it down pretending it didn’t bother her. 

“Oh really? With whom?” He asked. 

“Cloud.” She stated. 

He looked at her curiously, “Cloud? Aren’t they small game? Didn’t they try to take off on their own and they failed? Why would you invest in them?” There was a bit of disgust in his voice. 

“We were invested with them previously and we were the ones who originally put them on the map. We can help them again and we will both benefit from our agreement.” She stated. 

“As long as they don’t fail again.” He stated. 

Jena nodded and then stated. “I am sure they will do fine. We like to mix up our investments here. There is a mixture of large and small businesses which help diversify our portfolio. It will help in case anything happens to any of the larger corporations down the road.”

He looked her over and smiled as though pleased about something. “Very well. You seem to know what you are doing.”

She raised an eyebrow at him. 

“I didn’t mean that offensively.”

Of course you didn’t, she said to herself. Her phone buzzed and she took it out and saw that it was from Shawn. He wanted to meet with her about something. “I am afraid we will need to continue this conversation on Saturday. I have another meeting coming up and I need to prepare. Excuse me.” She showed him to the door and she went back to her desk. 

Within a few moments Shawn arrived with a couple more drinks. He looked over and saw the one on the side table. “I see you already got a drink.”

She walked over and grabbed the drink James had brought her and she dropped into the trash can and took the one from Shawn’s hand. He chuckled a bit from her response and then smiled. “Very well then. I am glad I was of some assistance.”

Jena walked over to her desk and sat down and leaned back a little. “What’s up?” She asked him. 

He leaned against her desk, “I got some information on James. I don’t think he is who he says he is.”

She looked at him curiously, “who do you think he is?”

“I think he is the Alpha from the Grey pack.” He said with some disdain. 

She looked at him confused, “I was told that he came from the grey pack. They have another Alpha and they want him out of the way. The Elder’s took him in and thought it would be best to put him with me. I would take him in and agree to leave the Grey pack alone so we wouldn’t attack them in the future.”

“Doesn’t that seem wrong to you somehow? Who gives away a male Alpha like that? It’s bound to cause some trouble.”

She nodded, “I agree. I thought something seemed strange about all of this to be honest. I don’t really trust him and I don’t like being near him. However, the elders made this decision. Most of this information came from them.”

“Do you think they were bought out by the Grey clan?”

She shook her head, “I don’t see how that is possible. My grandfather would never do anything like that.”

“The Grey clan is up to something. Keep your guard up. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was something else they were trying to do and this was just a distraction of some kind.” Shawn said. 

“Very well. I will keep that in mind.”

There was a moment of silence and he looked at her curiously with a small smile. 

Jena looked at him and blushed then looked away. “Is there something else?”

“I am curious to know what you did to Steven last night. He came home flustered and refused to talk to me about anything that happened. Did you two get along?”

Jena turned red and refused to look at him. “Everything went fine. We had a nice dinner together and then we went and played some games and watched some fireworks.”

“Games and fireworks? That doesn’t sound like a date he would plan.” He said looking her over. 

“After dinner I made him go for a walk with me and we ended up at a festival.” She said. “He had never seen fireworks before.”

Shawn nodded, “well whatever you did he seemed to have enjoyed himself. I have never seen him so happy. He could barely function.”

Jena smiled, “good. I am glad he enjoyed himself.” She still couldn’t look at him. They were twins and she suddenly remembered her boldness and her body started to heat up again at the thought of pleasuring him. Would Shawn taste the same way?

He moved closer to her and whispered in her ear, “should I be jealous of my own brother?” 

His husky voice suddenly in her ear made her jump and she moved back a bit. 

Shawn laughed a bit from her unease and took a step away from her. “I am kidding. I can’t be jealous of you and him. I am just glad things seemed to be going well between the two of you. I am sure in a few more days maybe we can convince him to let us mark you.”

Her whole body felt flushed and she felt a bit too warm between her legs. It was happening faster and more urgently now. Looking at him her eyes wandered to his lips and she was sure if they started kissing they wouldn’t stop. She wouldn’t stop. She wouldn’t be able to till he took her. 

Shawn cleared his throat and stepped away from her as though struggling with himself. “I will message you later about anything else I find. Get some rest.” He left. 

Jena left work and was happy to be greeted by her cousin who showed her the room she would be staying in. It had a good solid lock on the other side, just in case her wolf went crazy. She warned her cousin that she might need to release her wolf and needed someplace safe to stay for a couple days. She was happy to oblige. 

Once inside she got herself all set up and looked down in her bag. She pulled out a pair of lingerie that came in the mail earlier. It was a black sexy silk outfit. She brought it with her just in case she did decide to hunt the boys down and have them take her. 

She managed to go through dinner with her cousin before bed.
