The three elders came back and now everyone was standing outside the pack house. “We will head out now and discuss how to handle the Grey pack moving forward. I doubt they will remain quiet for long.”
Jena nodded in understanding and agreement.
Steven and Shawn were still a bit uncomfortable with the whole situation and stood closely next to Jena. She didn’t want to argue with them again so soon. They just marked each other, it was important for her to give them what they needed. It was important for them to protect her and be a bit defensive. She understood, although she didn’t like being treated or thought of as a damsel by any means.
Once the elders were gone they turned towards the wolves and dismissed them, they all dispersed leaving her standing there alone with her mates for the first time since they marked each other. It all happened so quickly and she suddenly felt a rush of heat go through her. They were finally together. It was official. She was a mated wolf. She never thought she would see the day.
“Shall we go back inside?” She asked them.
Shawn chuckled, “I think it’s time to go home for the night.” He smiled at her and wrapped an arm around her waist pulling her close to him. She placed her hands on his chest and couldn’t help but give him a small smirk back. “Oh? Are we going back to your place, or mine?”
He chuckled, “let’s go back to ours for now. Who knows what kind of trouble you might run into at your place? We can look into getting a house for the three of us.”
“Very well. However, I would still like to make a pit stop at my place for some clean clothes and supplies.” She said.
Shawn nodded, “very well. I will accompany you.”
Steven gave them both a nod in agreement. “I will head home and start preparing the contract.”
Shawn chuckled, “all work and no play makes for a dull boy.” He made a face and Steven.
Steven gave him a death glare and walked off towards his car.
Jena walked over to her car and hoped in and she drove home. Pulling up they went inside and everything felt so strange. Like it wasn’t her house anymore, it was just a place where her things were. She looked towards the living room as they walked through. She had forgotten all about the wolf they had tied up, but he wasn’t there.
As though knowing what she was thinking Shawn stood next to her, “we had someone take him away. If that’s okay with you. Didn’t want him staying in your house uninvited.”
Jena nodded, “I appreciate that. Sorry for snapping at you both earlier.” She said to him and headed upstairs to her room with him trailing behind.
“It’s alright. We needed to hear it. You are our mate, it’s important for you to put us in our place when we do something wrong. We can be stubborn sometimes…especially Steven.” He said with a laugh.
They arrived in her room and she looked around. There was a scent there that she recognized, James?
Shawn seemed to have smelled it too and growled a little as he walked around. The scent was faint and the wolf was clearly gone. It still made her feel a bit uncomfortable, James has been in her room and she never invited him there. Which meant he knew where she lived. She swallowed hard and thanked herself for calling Shawn that night instead of going into the house like she had wanted. Who knows what would have happened?
As she was putting clothes into a suitcase, Shawn was being nosy and going through some things laying around. He picked up a small box sitting off to the side and opened it, pulling out one of the pairs of lingerie that she had bought. He lifted it up and looked at her curiously, “I didn’t realize you had some fancy things.”
She blushed and took it from him and threw it into her luggage. “I bought a few things to try on.”
He watched her put it into the luggage and smirked, “I wouldn’t mind a show if you wanted to see if it fits.”
Jena looked away from him and blushed as she finished gathering her essentials.
“We can have someone come and pack up your room for you. It’s not a big deal. I assure you there are plenty of people in our pack that wouldn’t mind taking a day off to move all of your things for you.” He said.
“I feel bad making them do something like that. It’s my things and my house.” She said to him.
“You should rely on them a bit more. They like doing baseless stuff like this. Omegas were born for these types of jobs. You may think it’s nothing, but to them it's everything. They don’t have the same drives that we do. They aren’t leaders, and they don’t want to be leaders. They want orders to move things, to mow the grass, and to clean the house. It’s what makes them happy.” Shawn said to her.
Jena remembered what her cousin had said to her and she sighed, “I guess you're right. I will get someone to clear out my things and move everything to your place for now till we find a new place to live.” She said.
He closed the distance between them and his hand went gently up to her face, pulling her towards him. His lips crashed down on to hers and he wrapped his other arm around her so that their bodies were now crushing against one another. Jena felt herself give in to his advances and her body heated up quickly. All she wanted was for him to take her. Now that they were mated it didn’t matter, they were free to be intimate whenever they wanted.
After a few moments Shawn pulled away and gave her a big grin, knowing exactly what he was doing to her. “We can finish this when we get back home. I am sure Steven would love to participate.”
Jena’s heart started racing at the thought of being with them both, at the same time. She almost lost her footing when she tried to pull away from him and he had to reach out to steady her.
“Are you going to be okay?” He asked.
She gave him a small glare and cleared her throat. “Yes. It’s fine. Let’s just grab my things and go for now.”
He walked over and picked up her bag before she could protest and went downstairs. As they headed for the front door there was a sudden movement on the front porch and they both stopped. Shawn growled a bit and gently put her bag down. Already Jena could feel a disturbing presence, she didn’t think the person nearby was from their clan. Who would be stupid enough to try and attack them right now when no one was supposed to be on their land?
Without hesitation Shawn opened the front door and shifted into his wolf form. Jena looked at him and could already feel herself become hot from the site. He had a strong thick build around his shoulders, and his fur was a black as the hair was on the top of his head. His eyes were bright green and stood out against his dark coat. She wanted to bury her own muzzle in his fur and feel his warmth.
The movement happened again and he took off running towards the intruder. Jena shifted as well and was about to join him where there was a second movement off to the side. Her ears flicked back and she stood there on the porch. She wasn’t sure if she should join Shawn or investigate the other intruder. It wouldn’t be wise to leave him alone, and split up. Looking around she growled as she smelled James nearby. It was clearly a trap of some sort. She became annoyed. Which route would be the wise path?
There was some intense growling and she could hear a fight breaking out. Jena took off into a sprint towards the direction Shawn went in. As she got nearer a wolf jumped out in front of her, she could tell by the smell that it wasn’t James. She growled loudly and stood her ground. The wolf growled back and tried to lunge at her. It didn’t take much effort on her part to dodge them. By their look and size, she was sure it was someone’s beta. What were they thinking trying to take her out on their own? She was clearly more powerful than they were. A distraction maybe? She needed to end the battle quickly.
Before the beta could attack again Jena made her move, ending the battle. It didn’t take much effort on her part to have the wolf on the ground, by their throat, and finishing it. Once Jena felt the neck snap she didn’t hesitate to turn and run towards Shawn who was in the middle of a fight with four other wolves. Jena quickly joined in on the fight standing her ground next to him and growling at the others for trying to take on her mate. She smelled blood and looked over at Shawn who was bleeding slightly. Rage coursed through her and she instantly let out her own power. The four wolves shuddered at her aura and she snapped at them. Before they could move she grabbed the closest one and brought them to the ground. Shawn joined her and started attacking another that was close to him.
The other two tried to take their chances by going after Shawn while he was injured and distracted with the other wolf. It didn’t work and Shawn somehow managed to avoid them. Jena just needed that moment to finish off the wolf she attacked and now her attention was on the other two. It was two on two. They looked at Jena and Shawn and started backing up looking for a way out. Before Jena could attack they turned and bolted through the tree line.
Jena turned her attention towards Shawn who stumbled a bit. She walked over and put her nuzzle up against him to make sure he was okay, and he gave her a small nod. They walked back to her porch and she sniffed the air and looked around however, there was no one else to be found. Clearly they had been testing them. She wasn’t sure if they got their answer or not. Jena shifted back and helped Shawn back into his clothes before putting on her own. His leg was hurt pretty bad, but other than that he seemed fine. She managed to get him and her bag into his car and she got behind the wheel to take them home. As she backed out of her driveway she looked at her house and sighed, how did this turn into a warzone?
Arriving at the twin’s house Steven immediately came out to greet them and to help Shawn into the house. He didn’t ask any questions as he was clearly already going through everything with Shawn through their link. Jena walked in and put her bag down and asked where the first aid kit was. Steven pointed towards the bathroom and helped Shawn towards the couch. Jena arrived a few moments later with the first air kit and she started cleaning and dressing his wounds. He winced a bit, but was grateful for the assistance. Steven came over with a glass of water and some pain medicine.
Shawn chuckled a bit, but took it willingly. “It’s just a small flesh wound. I will be fine in the morning. You both don’t need to get so worked up.” He said to them both.
Jena gave him a small glare with Steven. “Just get some rest.” They both said and Jena went to put the first aid kit away.
Steven was waiting for her in the kitchen with some food he ordered for them to eat. “I don’t think it’s safe to go anywhere alone for now.” He told her.
She sighed, but agreed with him. “I will have Jeromy and a few others go with me to work on Monday.”
“I would feel better if one of us went with you as well.” He said.
“I can understand the concern. I will not say no if one of you would like to drop me off to work on Monday, however you both are in danger as well. What will happen to one of you while you are going to work alone?” She asked, turning the pages on him.
Steven looked at her and nodded. “Then how about this? All three of us will go to your building in the morning and drop you off early. We can have Jeromy and the wolves on full staff to protect you in case anything goes wrong. Then we will have some wolves go with us back to our building. This way we aren’t alone. Although, I will be honest the thought of working away from you right now at all makes me a bit uncomfortable.” He said to her sadly.
She nodded. “I understand. We will need to think of where the main office will be moving forward so we can be in the same building together.”
He nodded. “I have been giving some thought to that. I think your current building is the best place to be. You are already in the main part of the city and better access to everything we could need. Our building is best suited as the second branch to make things easier and will allow us to branch out further. However,” he paused and looked at her with a mischievous smile, “your building could do with a few upgrades.”
She immediately looked at him and gave him a stern look, “we aren’t putting in a personal elevator. That’s just tacky and uncalled for. We need to be with our people.”
He laughed, “very well. Any other requests?”
Jena shook her head, “no. Everything else at your place was great. I am sure your adjustments will be valid and worth it. Just make sure to keep it to a tight budget. I am not one to flaunt money or throw it around aimlessly.” She said to him.
He turned away from her and grabbed her plate and handed it to her. “I assure you, everything I do will be worth it. Just wait and see.”
“Oh? Are you going to surprise me with the changes?” She asked him curiously.
He gave her a charming smile, “do you trust me?”
She looked at him skeptically, but then nodded. “Of course.”
“Then yes. Leave it all to me. It will be a surprise. Once we have everything finalized and the company’s merged properly, I will start on the upgrades that we need.” He told her.
“Very well. I look forward to it then.” She said to him with a smile. “I hope the transition goes smoothly.” She said.
He nodded, “it should. I don’t see anyone getting upset by it. Most of the people who work for both of us are part of the pack so they already know that they are brothers and sisters now. Besides, the only ones who would make things difficult would be the owners and as we are all officially married I don’t see us getting in each other's way.” He laughed and finished eating his own food.
She blushed a bit and nodded. “I am sure we can make this more beneficial for all of us.”
“Nothing but benefits for all of us.” He took her empty plate and passed her another plate. She looked at it curiously. He shrugged, “apparently he is hungry too and would like something to eat.”
Jena nodded and picked up the plate and took it to Shawn who took it gratefully and started eating. She sat down beside him and turned on the TV and started going through things for them to watch. Shawn appreciated the company and cuddled up against her as they got comfortable on the couch. Steven didn’t join them and spent the rest of the night in his office gathering data and materials for the merger, apparently he was really excited about it all.
