Chapter Seven

"My lady, please don't do this! Or else the boss will get angry," Mayson tried to stop her. "Hmp! Childish!" Diego shouted and crossed his arms. Michelle stopped smashing things... She looked at Diego and stared at him. "Childish? Are you talking about me?" Michelle asked as she walked closer to Diego. "You kidnapped me in the middle of the day, took me here without telling me why. I have to sleep next to a man I don't know. Oh! Didn't you say your boss is my husband? Why?! When did I marry him? Why didn't I know I was married?" She couldn't hold back—even for a moment, all the anger she'd been keeping in came out the second she heard she had a husband. "Childish, childish. Stop saying that to me! All I want is my phone—why won't you give it to me?!" She wanted to just kill the men who'd abducted her and leave this mansion. But she couldn't do that without first making sure they were on her list of people who deserved to die and shouldn't be allowed to live in this world. While the three were arguing inside, two men walked in—and all three looked at them. "Good afternoon, everybody," Zandro greeted, waving his hand at them. "What's going on here?" Tristan said. Tristan and Zandro were employees of Matthew and Gerald, who lived with them in Matthew's compound. "Did a storm hit the boss's house?" Zandro asked, placing a hand on his chin as he looked at the three. "Looks like not a storm—was it a tsunami?" Tristan asked, joking. The two were shocked at the mess and broken things inside their boss's home. Michelle gave the two new arrivals a dirty look. "And who the hell are you? Nevermind," she said, then turned back to Mayson. "Give it back to me!" Mayson flinched at Michelle's words. "Mayson, give her back what she's asking for," Tristan ordered Mayson. So Mayson walked over to a drawer near the door, took Michelle's cellphone from it. Michelle quickly grabbed her phone and ran upstairs to her room. "What's this? And who... is that?" Zandro asked one after another. "Future madam—our future lady boss," Mayson said, smiling. Tristan and Zandro were shocked to hear this. "Huh?!!!!" the two said in unison. At Madrigal Mansion, the home of the mafia family. Diana, Matthew's mother, was sitting in the garden, staring blankly and deep in thought. She didn't even notice her husband approaching. John saw that his wife was in a complete daze. "What are you thinking about, my dear wife?" John asked his wife as he gently coaxed her. "Our children," Diana replied weakly. "What's wrong with them?" he asked his wife as he lay his head on Diana's lap. "Christopher—his heart is too full of envy and jealousy. Matthew is too caught up in his bad hobbies; he's never had a serious relationship," Diana complained to her husband, her voice full of worry. "Don't worry about them too much—they're grown up now," John comforted his wife. While John was comforting his wife, a maid approached. "Excuse me, sir, ma'am—please, it's Mr. Matthew," the maid said, handing the phone to Diana. Matthew called his parents to let them know he was about to get married, and that he would soon give his mother the daughter-in-law she had long wished for. Diana was overjoyed to hear the news—but little did she know it was all just a pretense. The word "love" was so important to Diana, because for her family, it was something so hard to find. For people like her husband and son, it was a word they might never discover. Diana wanted her son to find true love, even if he was a mafia member. "Ate Lulu, where are Mom and Dad?" Niña asked the maid. Angel Niña—that was her name. She was Matthew's younger sister, and also Christopher's sister. The entire Madrigal family loved their princess very much—except her uncle. "They're in the garden, young lady," Lulu replied. "Thank you, Ate Lulu," Niña said. Niña went to her parents in the garden. She wanted to visit her brother Matthew and ask her parents for permission. Her parents agreed, and she left in a hurry.
