Cassandra’s POV
Upon opening my eyes, the calm atmosphere of the room greeted me, with the white-painted ceiling catching my attention first. On my right-hand side was Adrian and on my left-hand side, sitting, was Mother, but I couldn’t find my babies around. My heart skipped in fear just before I saw them sleeping by their Mother's side.
Adrian had already slept off, it seemed I slept for quite a long time. Mother kept her eyes wide open, watching over the babies. It looked like a miracle how she managed to get them to sleep.
But how long do I need to stay here? I can’t even leave because of the steady breakdown of my muscles. I couldn’t even complete ten steps from the bed I was lying on.
