LIKE LOOKING IN A MIRROR
Anthony Green hated charity events.
Unfortunately, his grandfather loved them.
Which was why he found himself standing inside a crowded children's education fundraiser on a Saturday morning.
Children ran everywhere.
Parents mingled.
Teachers chatted excitedly.
The noise alone was enough to make him reconsider every decision that had led him here.
"You look thrilled."
Anthony glanced at his grandfather.
The old man looked far too amused.
"I am."
"Liar."
Anthony smiled despite himself.
The older man chuckled.
"One day you'll thank me."
"Doubtful."
For some reason, his grandfather kept exposing him to situations involving children.
As if he believed Anthony's life would somehow improve through proximity.
