Scarlet Soul
Opening Scene – After the Gunshot
Sirens scream.
Sam is covered in blood, pressing her hands to Perry’s chest.
“Stay with me! Look at me, Perry!”
He fades in and out — her voice echoing in a tunnel of darkness.
Flashes:
– His poetry notebook burning.
– Elena walking away.
– Victor laughing.
– Sam whispering: “I want whatever you have left.”
Then… black.
Recovery Room
Perry wakes up to the soft beeping of hospital monitors. Tubes in his arms. Bandaged chest.
His vision blurs.
Sam is asleep beside the bed, still holding his hand. A copy of his book is on the table.
He tries to speak.
Only manages: “You stayed.”
She stirs. “I never left.”
They both cry — not out of pain this time, but because they survived.
Who Shot Him?
The shooter was sent by a rival of Victor, now trying to reclaim power in the underworld. Victor himself is still behind bars — but his ghost haunts every street Perry once walked.
Perry refuses police protection.
He instead does something no one expects:
He goes on camera.
Perry’s Viral Interview
A local podcast interviews Perry. He tells the story:
– His childhood bullying.
– How wealth didn’t heal him.
– His double life as “Zane.”
– How love didn’t save him — but being seen did.
He ends the episode with:
“I used to think survival was about building walls.
But it’s not.
It’s about keeping your soul alive — even when the world claws at it.”
The episode goes viral.
People start calling him “The Scarlet Soul.”
Letters from Strangers
Perry receives hundreds of letters. From men who never cried.
From women who thought they were unlovable.
From kids who don’t fit in.
From people who feel invisible.
Each one thanks him.
For telling the truth.
For staying soft.
For living.
The Proposal
One morning, Perry brings Sam coffee — this time he painted the mug. A sketch of them dancing under rain.
Inside the cup is a small ring.
She gasps. “Are you serious?”
“I’m not promising perfection,” he says. “But I’m offering poetry, pain, and pancakes.”
She laughs through tears. “That’s exactly what I want.”
They kiss.
Final Montage
Soft piano music plays as we see:
– Sam hanging her new exhibit: “He Wasn’t Beautiful — Until He Spoke.”
– Perry speaking at a TED talk about emotional men and masculinity.
– A young boy in a hoodie reading Scarlet Soul in a library.
– Elena smiling as she closes the book.
And finally…
Perry on a rooftop, notebook in hand. Sam leans on his shoulder.
He writes:
“They tried to kill me.
They failed.
Because my soul —
was already fire.”
He looks up at the city. Alive. Loved. Known.
Fade to black.
