“This is a new one for me, I’ll have you know.” Angel Mel glances at the fairy on his shoulder. “I’m not the adventurist type. More of an armchair adventurer, you might say. Okay, here we go.” He and Marigoldy stand on the edge of the Sacred Pond, staring into its depths. His shirt is muted gray, for camouflage he had explained to Angel Rachel. She had wished him all the best in his endeavor to find and retrieve the lost teens from an eternity of endless misery. He takes the key she had lent him from his pocket, leaning down to the ground, searching for the green stone. There are so many it takes a while to locate the one with the flat bottom. Turning it over, he inserts it into the lock before replacing the pebble where he found it. Golden glitter dances over to the pond circling above
