Jason sits down onto the edge of the great cliff beside his uncle who is keeping company with Fiona Dodd, Bessie’s late aunt. Glancing sideways, the young man notices that the former high school sweethearts are holding hands. It’s a painful flashback of his former life with Bessie. “Nice night,” Jason remarks, glancing at the myriad of stars. A breeze caresses the back of his neck. He leans back on his palms. “Reminds me of sitting in that old pickup.” Fiona giggles. “Well, not really sitting.” She kisses Peter on the cheek. “Hey, Poodle?” “Poodle?” Jason remarks. “You called him Poodle? For real?” “To be fair,” Peter remarks calmly, “I called her Puddle.” He chuckles. “I’ll leave you two crazy kids to it then,” Jason murmurs, “Poodle and Puddle.” He gets up, waving as he heads along
