Dragon Bound

Chapter 33

“Girl, you are explosive, you know that?” Adrian asked Ryoka as they trudged through the sewers of the next town, they had escaped Ryoka’s inferno blast by the breath of a hair thanks to Adrian who had pulled both of them quickly through the trapdoor and into the tunnel.

“Where did that come from though, cos girl that was enough firepower to raze a skyscraper to the ground mahn” Adrian continued, Ryoka had been silent all through their moving through the tunnel and sewers, she had been really devastated by Damien’s confessions, and she was as well weakened by the excessive power output she just manifested a while ago.

Adrian actually started to fear her just a bit, he hadn’t heard of such power from a special generation dragon before, that kind of output was only attainable by specific originals even, like those of noble and royal breed, he figured out that she truly had to either be noble born or royalty for real, that plus the fact from Damien’s words that she was born untouched by experiments.

“Rage, disappointment, resentment, the feeling of being betrayed, all mixed up together and pent up to the brim filling you until you can’t hold it in anymore, that was the output Adrian, nothing more nothing less” Ryoka answered in a tired voice.

Adrian on the other hand felt there was more to it though, there had to be, he wondered if he would have turned out that way as well if he hadn’t been pod born because his mother still had to go on missions and battles while pregnant with him so while he wasn’t touched by experiments as well, he was still not born naturally, but then it couldn’t have been just that, it was sounding too simple to say it was because of natural birth or not that would determine the power levels of a special generation dragon.

They moved along in silence for a while more after which Ryoka complained of being fed up of the dark, smelly and slimy sewers after which Adrian readily agreed that they must have truly moved far enough to drop out of the WIC’s radar so it would be safe to go out into the open already.

They searched for the closest exit and came out into the bustling nighttime of the city, they blended in amongst the crowd moving about their businesses and kept a wary eye for any white garment.

After a few hours of scouting and checking to see if there was anyone on their tail, both above and below, the duo got satisfied that they were indeed free of the WIC and there wasn’t any tail on them, so they took a taxi to the far reaches of the city and from there they took flight in their dragon forms and headed to Adrian’s home, their new base and headquarters of operations.

“Whoa, that is intense” Javier remarked when Adrian accounted their experience to the siblings all, they all felt pity for Ryoka and then they felt what she felt, the disappointment, the resentment, the anger, and the will to fight, no one should go through such twisted ordeal.

“Do you know what happened to Damien?” Christine asked, she was quick to note that there was no particular sighting of what happened to him, did he escape or did the WIC agents kill him or capture him or did he get caught in the inferno? although if he did get caught in the inferno then he could have survived, now that it was uncovered that he is as well a full blown dragon, although from his story he is most probably a special generation dragon but then he was experimented upon so maybe he is a dn mutant, born normal but tweaked into a dragon.

“More importantly, how much did he know of the plans, the attack plans, the liberation plans, the safe houses too? Just how much did he know? He could have very well spilled to the WIC which would only cause even more problems for us” Letty said sternly, she was all about smooth operations, for a foe to learn about the operation before it happened is to give that foe the upper hand in the matter.

“He does not know anything about the plans and operations we are about to carry out, sure he knows we plan to keep attacking the WIC but he knows not the pattern or process we’ll employ, right now he should still think we’d be attacking the warehouses and storage facilities and supply lines, if he has told them that much then it’ll make our work easier because security will be focused on those places and not on where we plan to make a hit for” Ryoka answered plainly.

“Even while we were with him, Ryoka always felt the need to keep the important details from him, it was as if by intuition she knew deep down that he was a traitor and in cohorts with the enemy” Adrian added so as to put everyone’s mind at ease.

He could see now the eagerness to fight in all his siblings, something that wasn’t there before, he guessed that hearing that the WIC capture Ryoka’s parents rather than kill them despite what they did was assurance that their mother was only just captured as well and is still most probably alive, waiting for them to come liberate her.

After a while of discussion and agreement of the siblings to all join in the fight effort before the revolution structure is well set up, they agreed on hitting three WIC facilities simultaneously, seeing as only that way could they have the most impact and achieve the most because once the WIC notes the attack they will buckle up and reinforce other stations to prepare for the next one, hence hitting three at once was the most efficient and that was because they can only spread and divide themselves wide enough for three stations.

Setting aside the two special generation dragons; Ryoka and Adrian who are both flamethrowers, the six siblings are dn mutants -new generation dragons- Hugh and Javier are bronze-back dragons, Han Seok and Christine are platinum-back dragons while Letty and Jamie are wysterns.

The first team is that of Ryoka and Jamie and Christine, while team two is Hugh and Han Seok, and the third team is Adrian and Javier and Letty; teams one and three are to take two prison facilities one each, which holds prominent WIC foes, some human, some dn mutants and few Eldrians, while team two is to take a lab facility where some prominent Eldrians are being held and experimented on.

The locations of the facilities all differ, for team one they are going to China, team two Russia and team three Egypt, Adrian discovered only one safe house large enough and equipped to hold everyone supposing they all succeed, and it was in England so they all agreed to go there first to move some provisions in from the excess they had here, and to also know the lay of the land and the best possible entryways that wouldn’t raise eyebrows and alarms and then from there, they would move out to their different destinations to carry out their missions.

After all the scheming and planning was done, all that was left was a good night’s rest before setting out, Ryoka was given a room to sleep in, she discovered that the house was indeed meant to hold a lot of people conveniently, at least thirty people could hole up here and be comfortable.

A knock sounded on her door after a few hours and by her leave the person entered, Letty came in by candlelight and on seeing her, Ryoka rose up to a sitting position then Letty came to fill up the space beside her.

“How are you feeling?” Letty asked, there was emotions in her voice and for the first time, Ryoka saw the lady behind the stern and fierce visor that she kept on always.

“I’m ok, or at least I will be, I’m getting there, sooo…” Ryoka answered a bit unsure and a bit shy, she was taken with Letty, and every part of Letty appealed to her, the fierceness was only the topping to the whole thing about her that Ryoka fell for, she really did not know how to act with her in here in her room, both of them alone in the room.

“You are strong yunno, it’s rare to see a confident, independent and powerful young woman who knows what she wants and goes for it without looking back, without regrets, I wish I could have had your courage and gone out into the world to make my own mark and difference, but then, now is my chance right?” Letty said to Ryoka, glancing at her every once in while as she spoke.

Ryoka saw this as an outlet for Letty, she probably doesn’t have anyone to open herself up to seeing as she has been stuck here all her life with no one else except her mother and siblings, it was all the pity that Ryoka could feel for her, she felt like hugging her close at the moment.

Letty glanced at Ryoka again and this time their eyes met, they held each other’s gaze for a short while then broke if off and looked away shyly, both of them feeling the same way and doing the same thing.

“I dunno about being strong and all that” Ryoka started to answer while still looking away, “But I know about going for what I want with everything I’ve got, sometimes there are regrets though, but then at the moment while I’m still happy, there are none” Ryoka said and glanced back at Letty who was as well looking at her.

Rather than break off the stare this time though, both ladies came together slowly and their lips met for a gentle kiss, the kiss was filled with gentle hunger from Letty’s side and gentle passion from Ryoka’s side, after a short while they broke off the kiss and continued in their conversation, catching each other up on how their lives has been so far while growing up.

They both fell asleep a while through the conversation and it wasn’t until later in the midnight that Letty woke and snuck out of Ryoka’s room lest she woke her up, but Ryoka was aware of her leaving and at that moment she felt a bittersweet sensation.

If only they weren’t about to go for battle that very day in which the safety of their lives wasn’t so sure, if only things weren’t the way they are at the moment, but then maybe they wouldn’t have met, and maybe they would have, these were Ryoka’s thoughts till she drifted back to sleep, a sleep filled with the torment of endless dreams.
