MAXIMO A loud knock on my bedroom door woke me up. My eyes shot open, and I reflexively reached for my gun from my bedside table. That was until I realized that it was early in the morning, and it was definitely one of the maids knocking. "Come in,” I called out, my voice gravelly and rough.
