I’m waiting for Sam to return with Audrey when Oliver’s phone blares to life. The sound shatters the silence like a gunshot, the same alarm I heard just before Kane’s attack. My heart kicks against my ribs, wild and frantic, panic flooding my veins like ice water. “What’s happening?” My voice comes out thin, trembling, as I fight to drag air into my lungs, to steady myself.
