“You can watch every sunrise and sunset from this day forward. I’ll make sure of it.” Be still, my traitorous heart. We do not trust this man. We do not love this man. This man is—let’s be clear—a d**k. So why does his voice calm me like a lullaby? Why does my stomach feel like it’s hosting the entire butterfly population of the sss? And why, for the love of sanity, does my skin spark like static electricity every time I touch him? Brick by brick, I’ve built a fortress around my heart. Impenetrable. Untouchable. Bulletproof.
