Chapter 2: The Dangerous Offer
Ethan's company continued growing faster than anyone expected. Every day, new customers signed up for his delivery service. The business that started with one bicycle now had dozens of vehicles operating across the city.
One afternoon, Ethan received a mysterious phone call.
"Mr. Carter, someone would like to meet you," the caller said.
"Who?" Ethan asked.
"You'll find out when you arrive."
Curious, Ethan agreed.
That evening, a black luxury car picked him up and drove him to one of the most expensive buildings in the city. Inside, he was taken to a private office where a powerful businessman sat behind a large desk.
It was Victor Blackwood.
Victor smiled.
"Congratulations on your success, Ethan."
"Thank you," Ethan replied carefully.
Victor leaned forward.
"I want to offer you a partnership."
Ethan was surprised.
"A partnership?"
"Yes. Together we could dominate the industry."
For a moment, Ethan considered the offer. Victor had money, influence, and powerful connections.
But Ethan remembered the rumors and attacks that had nearly destroyed his company.
"I appreciate the offer," Ethan said, "but I prefer building my company my own way."
Victor's smile disappeared.
"You should think carefully."
"My answer is no."
The room became silent.
Victor slowly stood up.
"Then you have chosen the hard path."
Ethan left the building feeling uneasy.
The following week, problems began appearing everywhere. Important contracts were suddenly cancelled. Suppliers increased their prices. Anonymous accounts posted negative reviews online.
Someone was trying to destroy him.
Despite the pressure, Ethan refused to quit.
He worked day and night, meeting clients personally and reassuring employees. His determination inspired everyone around him.
Then, something unexpected happened.
A famous investor named Sophia Williams contacted him.
"I've heard your story," she said. "Most people would have given up by now. I want to invest in your company."
A few weeks later, Sophia invested five million dollars.
The news shocked the business world.
Ethan's company expanded into three new cities. Revenue doubled. New opportunities appeared every day.
For the first time, Ethan felt unstoppable.
But across the city, Victor Blackwood watched the news and clenched his fists.
"This isn't over," he whispered.
And soon, Ethan would discover just how dangerous Victor could be.
To be continued...
