(The meeting)
THREE DAY AFTER THE DEAL:
(Ava's Pov)
It has been three days since I agreed on that crazy deal with Vance. He hasn't called or said anything.
I was beginning to get worried, did he just dupe me? Giving me false hope, instead of looking for a solution to get my shop back.
I stared at Morgan's room, he was getting on my nerves with his constant playing of video games, instead of studying.
I walked towards his door. My eyes fixed on the "Do not disturb" sign placed outside his door. He might be Eighteen and a senior but as long as he lived under my roof he must obey my rules.
"Hey, asshole" I banged on the door, knowing he probably locked it inside.
He refused to unlock it instead he increased the volume of his game.
"Morgan" I yelled.
My phone chimed in one swift haste I went through the content. "Shouldn't you worry more about your shop, I can't afford to be penniless at the moment" the message read from Morgan.
"You little s**t, you think I can afford to be penniless too, am as desperate as you are, all you do is spend my money, eat my food, and spend them on girl, you little fox" I yelled at him from the door
Another text came in, still from Morgan and it read. "That's Why you are my favorite sister" he messaged
I responded "Am your only sister, douchbag" A warm smile appeared on my lips as I placed the phone back in my sweatpants pocket.
I hope things go as planned, should I text Vance, no I can't, he specifically asked me not to call or text him.
He was the only one with enough rules and regulations. I headed towards my room, bringing out the contract paper of our agreement.
The only rules I had here were, no intimate touching without my permission and keeping the payment on time.
But as for Vance, He came with a lot, No meeting of his family and friends behind his back, no interfering in each other personal life, be there on time when he needed me, I scoffed at that statement, does he think he owns me.
Last but not least, No meeting Up except if it was important or related to the deal and contract.
He is so cold and distant, I thought to myself. But I knew I had no choice but to abide by his rules if I wanted to get my shop back.
I sat down on my bed and stared at the contract, feeling a mixture of excitement and uncertainty. It was a risky move to enter into this arrangement with a mysterious man like Vance, but desperate times called for desperate measures.
I glanced at the clock on my bedside table, anxiety creeping in. It was almost time for our first outing, according to the terms of the contract.
I wondered where we were going, and what he had planned. Would he be able to help me reclaim my shop or was this all just a huge mistake?
Unable to sit still any longer, I grabbed my phone and typed out a quick message to Vance.
"Hey, it's been three days since we made our deal. Are we still on for our meeting today? I need to know if there's any progress."
I hesitated for a moment before hitting send, wondering if I was breaking his rules by reaching out to him. But my desperation outweighed my caution, and I anxiously awaited his response.
Minutes later, my phone buzzed with a new message. It was from Vance.
"Meeting postponed. Will inform you when a new time and place is decided."
I let out a frustrated sigh. Was he just playing with me? Postponing the meeting without any explanation? I felt a mix of anger and disappointment wash over me.
But then, as if in response to my thoughts, another message appeared on my screen.
"I promise I haven't forgotten about you or your shop. Just trust in the process. I'll contact you soon."
I stared at the text, conflicting emotions swirling within me. Should I believe him? Should I wait patiently for him to make his move? Or should I take matters into my own hands and try to find another solution?
As I weighed my options, a small flash of hope flickered within me. Maybe, just maybe, Vance had a plan up his sleeve. And maybe, just maybe, this crazy deal would be the key to getting my shop back. Only time will tell.
(Vance's POV)
My eyes moved from my grandma to Mrs Celine's daughter. This was the fourth meeting Date this week. She was young, 23 years I guess, a college student studying, Business management.
I leaned and whispered in Grandma's ear. "Don't you think this one is too young, I think she's going to be a headache, especially for you Mrs. Caroline"
Mrs. Caroline was the name I preferably call my Grandma, ever since my parents' car accident, she was my only family, I know I was too much to handle, but sometimes she overdoes things.
My grandma glanced from me to her. "That's even better, it won't be difficult for her to produce children. It's better when they are young than old" she responded back
That was far from the reaction I wanted, I had to cancel my meeting with Ava just to be here or Grandma was going to go into her drama mode again.
"So what's your hobby" I asked her
She smiled, exposing her teeth, she was horrible at flirting, but I played along, waiting for her response. "Shopping, I don't like cooking, I just feel it what maids do, ohh I love going clubbing" She finally said
I don't know if I should thank her or laugh but I could see the horror on my grandma's face.
"Mrs. Caroline are you okay" I held my Grandma's hand, suppressing the laughter trying to erupt inside of me.
"Is she okay?" Tina asked
"Ohh Tina she is, You just gave her the shock of her life" I responded, flashing her a small smile as she smiled back.
Tina looked confused. "What do you mean?"
I leaned in closer and whispered, "You see, Tina, my grandma has always wanted me to settle down and start a family. She's been on the lookout for potential wives for me, and she's been especially focused on finding someone who can bear children. But you just made it clear that you're not interested in cooking or taking on traditional wifely duties. You're more interested in shopping and going clubbing."
Tina's face fell slightly, her smile fading. "I didn't mean to disappoint her. I just wanted to be honest"
I patted her hand reassuringly. "Don't worry, Tina. It's not your fault. My grandma has some outdated ideas about relationships and gender roles. She believes that a young wife would be more likely to give her great-grandchildren, but she fails to see that there's more to a partnership than just procreation."
Tina nodded a hint of understanding in her eyes. "I see. Well, I hope your grandma can come to appreciate me for who I am."
I smirk. Oh, Tina dear they won't be a next time, you just prove to grandma that you are not the one.
"Tina, dearest, how about we meet up another time, I will get back to your mom" Grandma simply told her
I watched Tina stand up and leave, deep down I knew that was the last time I would see her.
"You must be happy," Grandma said.
Yes, I was. I stared at my phone going through its contents. "Kelvin Well is holding a charity event to build a new education system in Palanco" I informed Grandma
"Oh you got the invitation, I planned on not going, I have other important things to engage myself in, since you are free you can go in my place" she managed to say
This was the perfect time to introduce Ava to the world and Grandma. "Sure Grams"
I texted her and sent her some night dresses and accessories. I turned to face Sam, asking him to pick her up from her place.
I stood outside The event pacing back and forth, why the hell was she late, i had been dialing Sam's number yet nothing.
I was beginning to get worried. Just then Sam Car drove in and I let out a sigh.
Sam got out and help Ava out, I stared in disbelief, she did put effort cause the person walking towards me looked so f*****g beautiful
Ava now standing in front of her, looked shy and uncomfortable. "Are you okay?" I asked
"It has been long since I did this" she responded
"Did what?" I asked curious
"Dress up and attend a fancy party," she said, a smile curled up her lips.
"I can't tell you this would be the last time, but get prepared, you will certainly be attending more," I told her extending my hand to her.
She hesitated at first, her eyes darting from me to my outstretched hand, was she having second thoughts already?
I smirk, I guess she wasn't as desperate as I thought she was, I was about to drop my hand when she grabbed hold of it. Hey, eyes filled with determination.
"A little fancy party wouldn't hurt right"
She said, letting out a chuckle as I stared at her. I can't lie, I like her determination.
This was going to be fun…
