Chapter Thirty-SevenAgnes waited until she had called Ben to pick her up from the hospital, before phoning Alan. She didn't want him picking her up. He would insist on taking her to their apartment, as Jamison didn't know that address. Nevertheless, she felt sure Jamison would have means of finding her wherever she was.
“Good news, Alan, I've been released from the hospital,” she told him. “Don't worry about collecting me – I've called Ben and he's on his way. Sandra is with me, so I'm okay,” she added, when he began to ask whether she could manage. “I'll get back to you when I'm settled. You might be free to talk then.”
“Right then, let's get downstairs to the waiting room,” Agnes said, once she had finished the call.
