Chapter Twenty-SixUpstairs, Detective Chief Inspector Alan Johnson was still listening to the conversation between Agnes and Bill Moffat. But now he felt he had heard enough. He had to admit Agnes had been brilliant at the way she had pried information from Moffat.
So far, the man had admitted to meddling with two doors in the hotel; first Jamison's room, and now Sandra's. Agnes's questioning had also given him reason to consider that the first key-card Moffat had been given to open the door to room 106, was actually one that had been set up to open any guest room in the hotel; in other words, a master key-card. Alan was still pondering on whether the same thing had happened today, when he heard Moffat toying with the idea of killing Agnes.
