Chapter ThirteenBy a stroke of luck, Agnes and Sandra finished their meal at the same time as Jamison and Deborah. However, it was mostly because they'd almost wolfed down the last course to keep up with them. Still keeping an eye on the couple, Agnes did manage to overhear Jamison suggest that they retire to the drawing room for coffee. There were a few other words that followed that she didn't pick up, but at least she was aware that the drawing room was to be their first stop.
Neither Agnes nor Sandra really felt they could eat or drink anything else. Both had eaten too much, while the wine had certainly overflowed. Yet, as it would be a good excuse to follow the couple into the drawing room, Agnes ordered coffee to be served there.
