Chapter Forty-FiveAgnes and Sandra were still sitting in the drawing room when Ben walked in. He looked pleased to see her.
“Ah, Mrs Lockwood,” he said. “How nice to see you. You are looking well.”
“Thank you, Ben.”
“I had an hour to spare, so I thought I would bring my wife to see the drawing room.” He gestured to the woman still hovering in the doorway. “This is Amrita.”
“Come in and take a seat,” Agnes said. “It's so nice to meet you at last, Amrita. This is Sandra.”
Though Amrita seemed a little shy at first, she soon opened up when she realised how friendly Agnes was and very soon, the four of them were chatting like old friends.
“Would you like to see the room you will be staying in?” Agnes asked.
Amrita and Ben looked at each other before Ben replied. “Yes, if that's possible
