Episode 10: The Visitors

Selene's pov
I grew extremely bored and impatient waiting for Ronan to return so I went outside and sat on a chair.
Listening to the sounds of nature to calm and soothe my nerves.
Honestly, the peace and quiet was nice. It's a bit surprising that the famous Bloodthorn forest, known to be a forbidden region could be so quiet and peaceful despite it's eerie and gloomy atmosphere.
I guess it's due to Ronan's strength of course. I doubt any other werewolf would be able to survive here for a month.
I was enjoying my peace and quiet when I suddenly heard ruffling of leaves. I jumped up straight away, staring ahead alertly as I took a few steps forward.
I could hear footsteps approaching, although they tried to be as silent as possible, I could still hear it.
They were two of them. I quickly hid behind a tree and crouched, I grew out my claws, getting ready to attack and catch them off guard.
But when I finally saw who it was, I frowned in confusion and then smiled in elation.
I jumped out of my hiding place, "Brandon! Dean!" I called out happily, totally not sure how they got here but glad to finally see two familiar faces.
The two of them heard my voice and their faces lit up. "Selene! You're safe!" Brandon yelled as he and Dean rushed towards me.
That's when I felt a strong wind blow past me. Before I could even figure out what was happening, Dean was already sent flying away.
Brandon on the other hand struggled to get out of Ronan's grip as the latter easily lifted him up by neck with one hand.
"Wait! Wait!" I yelled and Ronan glanced at him, his face totally expressionless.
"He's my brother!" I yelled and he stared at Brandon for a moment.
"This donkey is your brother?" He asked as he threw him away and I heaved a sigh of relief, chuckling inwardly when I heard him call Brandon a donkey.
"What about this one?" He asked as he began to approach the stunned Dean.
"Don't!, He's a friend from the pack!" I added and he stared at Dean for moment and I could swear Dean almost s**t on himself.
Then Ronan spared him and arrived before me in a blur.
"Remember, no funny actions" he said and disappeared from sight. I sighed in relief and stared at the two boys in amusement as they tried to get their bearings.
Ronan totally intimidated them without even trying.
"What are the two of you even doing here?, And how did you get here?" I asked as the both of them finally regain their composure but still glanced around warily.
"Was that him? The beast?" Brandon asked and I frowned slightly, "what are you doing here?" I asked more bluntly this time.
"What are you talking about? We came to save you of course" he replied and I scoffed,
"From what exactly?" I asked,
"From this monster!" Brandon whispered fiercely,
"Listen, that charming prince likes you a lot, he has been staying at our place ever since he arrived. I doubt he would leave unless you come back to him, so let's go now" he urged quickly and I frowned.
"I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm not going anywhere. The last time I checked, father and mother didn't consider me their child anymore, going back there now would be my death sentence" I replied.
Brandon groaned, "what the hell are you saying Selene? That you want to stay with that monster?" He asked
"Brandon! Leave now!" I yelled and he flinched slightly,
"I was to die on the full moon, what did my beloved parents do, what did you my elder brother do. You just stood there like an i***t when they locked me up. You don't need to pretend that you care about me, I know you don't, you're only here for your own selfish purpose!"
When I finished ranting, Brandon just stared at me speechlessly.
I took in a deep breath to calm down. My family betrayed me and my brother was a fool. I realized at this moment that nobody among them really cared about me.
"Selene, listen, I came here today because of you. I was able to find you because of the bracelet I gave you, do you remember?" Dean asked and I nodded slightly.
I remembered wearing that bracelet before randomly losing it in the bedroom during a passionate session with Ronan.
"Selene, I've always liked you for the longest time now. You don't have to go back to the wolf prince, you can come with me and we'll elope together. It will just be the two of us" he said sincerely and I sighed.
"I'm sorry Dean,I'm not interested in you and besides I have a mate now. You two should leave and never come back" I said as I began to walk away. Heading to the wooden house.
I was too disappointed to speak to them anymore.
"So that's it then!" Brandon suddenly yelled.
"You're just going to live the rest of your life with this beast. You're a traitor of our family, a traitor of our race!" He yelled and I suddenly stopped.
"Then I shall be a traitor then. From now on I shall no longer bear the name Selene Valtor. I no longer have ties with the valtor family or pack. Do feel free to pass the message to your parents Brandon" I said and began to walk off while trembling slightly.
All of a sudden there's a gust of powerful wind and Brandon's yelling immediately disappeared. A few moments later I heard the gust of wind again and I turned to see Ronan staring at me, his face still expressionless.
"Can I hug you?" I asked weakly as I felt tears I've been holding back begin to fall.
Ronan smiled slightly and spread his arms widely, "Of course" he replied and I didn't hesitate anymore, I flew into his embrace crying loudly as he stroked my back silently...

Ronan's pov
The emotion I felt when she ran into my embrace was indescribable. It wasn't the same wild passion I knew. It was something different. Something gentle.
Something that made me want to comfort her endlessly.
Selene was this elegant, happy to go innocent girl. She can be stubborn and willful but she had a fragile heart and had never truly witnessed the cruelty of the world.
What her family did to her was nothing new. In fact it was a common place thing that happened in the supernatural world.
The moment you are considered worthless, they didn't care about you anymore.
But to me, Selene wasn't worthless. I will show them. I will show them that she is strong. Powerful and a force to be reckoned with.
Selene cried herself to sleep in my arms, then I princess carried her and took her inside, gently placing her on the bed.
I sat beside her and stared at her adorable face for a moment. Then I went outside and waited. Some of my plans were already in motion. I just needed one more confirmation.
After a few hours of waiting, a figure gradually made his way to the wooden house.
"Seriously couldn't you arrive here faster?" I asked as I glared at Kieran and he chuckled.
"Sorry, Catherine won't just let me go?" He replied and I frowned,
"Oh, right, you don't know Catherine, she's my new flame by the way. Sweet, gentle, kind......"
"Oh enough, just tell me what I want to know" I cut him off glaring at him.
He chuckled and then took a seat. "Bro, you were right to have some suspicions" he said and I gestured for him to continue.
"I did some serious digging and this took a lot of time but apparently, your mate was cursed during the mate bonding ritual. It is said that she saw you and then was cursed. They say only by mating with you can she be saved or she'll die on the full moon" he said and I frowned.
"And you're sure this news is authentic?" I asked and he nodded,
"Absolutely, or you could just ask her yourself, what's so hard in that?" He asked and I shook my head.
"I want her to tell me herself" I replied and he nodded.
"Hmmm, makes sense a bit, but I suggest you give her a hint or something, girls can be clueless about important stuffs sometimes" he advised and I merely nodded.
"Oh, I also got some juicy stuff, apparently, the witches have been moving around weirdly recently. There's been sightings of some witches having meetings with a couple of wolf hunters" he said and I chuckled.
"That's not possible, witches are naturals at having secret locations or maintaining secrecy. Which means they want someone to know about it" I said and Kieran clapped once,
"Bingo! And guess who they want to find out about it?" He asked smiling slightly and my expression became grim.
"Damn Hanks!" I said
"Yep, damn Hanks, he's sending a couple of those dirt bags your way" Kieran said and I smiled darkly.
"Then I'll just kill them all" I replied and he nodded.
"I expected as much. Just be vigilant, they might strike on the night of the full moon" he said and I nodded.
"Thanks for this" I said and he chuckled.
"I don't need your dirty thanks, you never mean them. Where's sis-in-law? Let her make me some delicious food" he said and I scoffed.
"Too bad she's asleep" I replied and he laughed,
"Damn, you never get tired do you?" He asked, smiling teasingly and I sighed I'm frustration.
"You i***t, is everything about s*x?" I asked tiredly and he shrugged.
"It's one of the best things of life..." He replied and I chuckled slightly........
