It should have felt like an accomplishment. Walking into Grayson Enterprises as an official partner, stepping through the polished glass doors with my name attached to a multi-million-dollar deal that should change everything for me should really have felt like an accomplishment. Instead, it felt like walking into a battlefield. A very dangerous battlefield. One where I really couldn't afford to lose. My fingers curled tightly around my bag strap as I moved through the grand lobby, my heels clicking against the marble floor as I did so. The place was just as intimidating as I remembered—towering glass windows, modern sculptures and walls lined with sleek digital screens displaying highlights of Grayson’s upcoming fashion line. It wasn’t the company that really intimidated me though.
