(A BROTHERLY ENEMY)

1294 Words
“Edward!!” The prince yelled as he barged into the royal chamberlain’s office. “My prince, what's wrong?? Why are you so furious??” Edward asked, sounding greatly confused. “Where is my brother??” The prince yelled, rumbling like an active volcano. Seeing how infuriated the prince was, caused the Royal Chamberlain to stammer. “M_m_my prince he is in the royal dungeon.” Without any delay he immediately headed for the royal dungeon. “Oh look if it isn't my father's favorite son. Oh wait, I'm not his son anymore.” Aaron said sarcastically, as he ran his fingers through the dungeon soil. “Leave us,.now!!” Prince Levi yelled. “But, my prince, it's against the rules. We could get in trouble with our commander.” One of the soldiers said. “Would you prefer getting in trouble with me or your commander?” The prince asked furiously but the soldier remained silent. “I thought as much. Now get out!!” He roared. So all seven soldiers rushed out of the dungeon complex. “Why are you here Levi?? To rub salt on my wounds??” Aaron asked, still drawing on the dungeon soil. But Levi didn't utter a word. He only came closer and began to stare at his brother passionately. “I don't need your pity, your majesty. You can all go to hell. Now get out of here.” Aaron said, but he was nowhere near angry. Tears began to roll Levi’s cheeks. “How did we get here brother? We used to be so close and today we are fighting over something that I don't even care about.” he said sobbingly. At this point Aaron got up from the ground, dusted himself, and came closer to the prison bar. “What do you want, Levi?? Go back up to the palace and enjoy being the Heir to the throne, cause I don't need you here and I most certainly don't need your sympathy.” “Brother, I don't want any of this, you should be King and not me. Besides, becoming King is at the expense of my one true love.” Levi said, sounding pained and frustrated. Aaron glared at his brother with much surprise. “You have just proven to be the biggest fool alive. So you are willing to trade all of this for some childish love story. Again I say, "you are a fool.” “You won't understand Aaron, I met a woman a few days ago and she has changed everything. I don't care about all of this. Besides you don't even know what it feels like to love and be loved.” “How would I know?? My own parents never loved me.” Aaron said sarcastically. “Don’t say such things brother. I'm sure that father will get you out before the day runs out.” Levi said lovingly. Aaron scoffed with disinterest. “Don't you dare act like you care. Besides, he is your father and not mine.” “What do you mean??” Levi asked in confusion. “Didn't he tell you??” Aaron said with a subtle smile. “Tell me what?” Levi asked, sounding even more confused. “Well, your father severed all ties with me. Honestly, he has made the job easier for me. At least, when I strip him of all he has, I won't be called a heartless son.” Aaron said, releasing another subtle smile. “I will get out of here soon, and when I do, you will all feel my wrath. I will make you all experience the pain of being robbed of your rights. You all just wait and see.” Aaron said with a fierce look. Just then the Queen walked. “I said, I don't want any of you here. Wait outside!!” Prince Levi roared. “It’s your mother, fool!” Aaron said. “Mother??” He asked with much surprise and turned around hastily to see if it was really her. “Mother!! Thank goodness you're here. How could you let this happen?” The Queen didn't utter a word, she just continued to walk towards them. “Would you look at that, the Queen herself.” Aaron said jeeringly. When got close enough, Levi repeated his question. “Mother, how could you allow this to happen?” She didn't utter a word but tears began to roll down her cheeks. Shocked to see his mother crying. “Mother, why are you crying??” Levi asked with concern. Queen Merab suddenly fell to the ground and began to wail aloud. “I have failed as a mother, I have failed.” The prince reached out to her and tried to pull her up. “Mother, stop all this and get up, you're making a scene.” “Levi, please leave and take your mother with you, I can't stand all this family drama. Besides, I was about to take a nap before you came in.” Aaron said without any sympathy for his mother. “Can't you see that our mother is crying or don't you have any sympathy left in you.” Levi said angrily, meanwhile the Queen continued to weep profusely. “Hold it right there!! She is your mother and not mine.” Aaron said sternly. The Queen let out a long, bitter sigh, as she narrowed her eyes to Aaron. “You're so heartless. How could I utter such words.” she said sobbingly. He began to laugh aloud “Indeed I am heartless and I wish I could show you the extent of my wickedness. You’ve put me in here for trying to kill my brother, little do you know that if I had the chance, I would run my sword through your hearts a billion times.” Triggered by Aaron's words, Levi blasted him to the wall. “Levi!!! How dare you!!” “You coward. You dare to attack a defenseless man. Why don't you open these bars and try to pull the same stunt again. I promise, I will break every bone in your body and bury you right here in this dungeon.” Aaron said furiously, groaning in pain. “You still have the guts to speak.” Levi roared and tried to blast him again but Queen Merab constrained him. “No dear, don't do that.” She said calmly. “Mother, let me teach this fool a lesson. I don't even know why I came here. He has committed a grave crime and he isn't even showing any remorse. He can rot here for all I care. Let's go mother.” He said and tried to walk out, but the Queen held him back. “No Levi, your brother is hurt. He doesn't mean any of the things he is saying.” Queen Merab said passionately. “Are you joking right now, mother. He just threatened to run his sword through our hearts. Isn't it obvious that he deserves to be here??” Levi asked angrily. “You should listen to your son, Merab. He is making a lot of sense.” Aaron said with a subtle smile. Levi’s fist tightened as frustration and anger rushed through him. “Let's just leave, mother. It's of no use trying to talk to him.” “We will leave, but it doesn't mean that we will give up on him. After all he is our flesh and blood, and that's not going to change. Come, let's go.” The Queen said and they both walked towards the exit. “You should both remember one thing, I will have my revenge. Tell the King that I said so.” Aaron yelled.
