CHAPTER 10– The Unforgotten feelings

702 Words
The next day — Juen’s second day at the company — everything felt calm and ordinary until something unexpected happened. Someone secretly sent him his favorite meal and a beautiful bouquet of flowers. There was no name, no clue, just a small note that read: “Have a nice day.” Thinking it was from Arthit, he didn’t suspect anything strange. He smiled and accepted it happily, sending a quick message in return: [Thanks for the food and flowers 🌸😊💐] But moments later, Arthit replied: “Food? Flowers? I didn’t send you anything, Juen. I’d rather be with you than send those things.” Juen froze. He didn’t reply. [......] Then a thought crept into his mind — if not Arthit, then who? Who could be sending him all these things, someone who seemed to know exactly what he liked? As he pondered, his secretary knocked on the door. “Sir, here are the files and product records that need your signature.” He thanked her and began signing. But one particular folder caught his eye — a project file under Zackarya’s name. He paused for a moment, a strange heaviness pressing on his chest. “Maybe I should return this to him personally,” he whispered to himself. Even if his memory was still blank, a part of him felt that something about Zackarya was… important. He walked to Zackarya’s office and knocked, but there was no answer. Curious, he slowly opened the door — and froze. Inside, he saw Zackarya… with Margo sitting on his lap. Juen’s heart skipped a beat. He didn’t know how to react — he just stood there, silent and shocked. “Hello, Juen! Nice to finally meet you. I’m your future sister-in-law,” Margo said sweetly, a smug smile on her lips. Juen’s throat went dry. He forced a nervous smile and muttered, “Uhmm… sorry for interrupting. I’ll… I’ll just lock the door for you.” He stepped out quickly, his chest tightening. His heartbeat grew faster, heavier, almost painful — though he couldn’t understand why. Why did it hurt so much to see that? After he left, Zackarya pushed Margo off his lap, glaring furiously. “f**k off! What future sister-in-law? I’ll never belong to you.” Margo smirked, leaning closer, her finger tracing his chest. “Come on, Zack. You know we’re meant to be married. If your adopted brother hadn’t gotten into that accident, we would’ve been living together by now.” “Get lost!” he shouted angrily. Margo laughed softly, as if mocking him, then left without another word. That evening, both Zackarya and Juen returned home. They ate dinner together — silent, tense. Juen avoided his gaze, feeling awkward and confused by emotions he couldn’t explain. Zackarya wanted to speak but hesitated, afraid of saying something that might push Juen further away. Finally, he tried to start a conversation. “How’s work?” “It’s fine,” Juen replied shortly. Zackarya went quiet again. He wanted to beg — to tell Juen everything — but he knew that if he tried too hard, he might lose him for good. Still, he promised himself he wouldn’t give up. Even if Juen’s mind had forgotten, his heart hadn’t. Then Juen suddenly asked, “When’s your wedding?” Zackarya froze. The question hit him like a blade. “I… I don’t know,” he replied curtly. After dinner, Juen quietly went upstairs to his room. The night was still. Hours later, he felt the door creak open — but brushed it off, thinking he was just dreaming. As he lay in bed, he suddenly felt a pair of arms wrap gently around his waist. Warm breath brushed against the back of his neck. “What are you doing?” he whispered softly, trying not to sound annoyed. “I just… want to feel this again,” Zackarya murmured behind him, voice low and trembling. “It’s been years since I last held you like this. I’ve missed you… so much.” Juen didn’t know what to do. He wanted to push him away — but part of him couldn’t. Because deep inside, even if his mind had forgotten, his heart remembered.
