Tears kept rolling down her eyes, she sat on the bed

and picked her phone to call Kemi.

How's my favorite girl doing, Kemi said excitedly, I'm

not fine Kemi, I've you been crying what's wrong

Sewa? Where are you? I'm at home, I'm coming over,

she said and hanged up.

What's the matter? You don't look good Sewa, to be

honest you look sick what's going on with you?

Something is going on with Xavier he's been acting

weird since we got married, weird? Kemi said, he

talks to himself I asked him why he said he talks to

himself whenever he's worried I was cool with

it but it got worse lately, he leaves the room every

night after I sleep and comes back like an hour later, I

don't know what's going on with him every time he

comes back to bed he smells like a morgue, morgue??

Kemi exclaimed, yes morgue.

Do you follow him to know where he's always going

to? No he leaves when I'm asleep but anytime I don't

find him next to me I look for him the last time I

looked for him he got angry so I stopped I don't know

what he's always doing.

Next time you'll pretend to be asleep when he stands

up to leave the room you'll follow him to know

whatever he's hiding and about the talking to himself

do you think he's going crazy.

What do you mean Kemi? He told me anytime he talks

to himself he's worried, did you ever ask him what

he's always worried about? Yes but he never tells me

what he's worried about.

Do you think everything is okay with him? Sewa said 

I don't know Sewa, if he's always worried and doesn't

want to tell you maybe he needs to see a therapist.

It's been over 6 months we got married and he still

can't talk to me about his problems, you can't blame

him Sewa, Kemi held her hands, somethings are better

left unsaid just make sure you know follow him to

know what he's doing someone who talks to him or

herself is capable of anything, you don't have to cry,

she hugged her.

I'm scared Kemi what if he's doing something bad,

why don't you find put what he's doing before

concluding, Kemi said.

I miss you a lot I can't believe we didn't see for 3

months and we're in Lagos together, Kemi said, that's

not my fault you left me in Nigeria and went to Paris

for a job for more than a month when you got back

you were still busy with work, Sewa giggled, I know

I'm at faultt, I'm sorry I've not been there for you I'll

try to be better, she pecked her.

I'll be a mother soon, Sewa said with a big smile,

you're pregnant? Kemi said hugging her, I'm so happy

for you girl, how many months gone? 4 months, and

you didn't tell me, you are always busy I'm still

wondering how you came here today, anything for my

friend, actually I was on my way for a job when you

called, I'm fine now you can go for the job, my job can

wait.

Thanks for coming, Sewa hugged her, anytime, why

are you not at the studio? I'm taking a break, is

everything okay? Sure I just needed to rest today, oh

that's nice.

He has a particular room in this house which I'm

suspecting he's always going to every night, what

room? Kemi asked, the room is always empty before

we got married I asked him if I could use the room for

a mini studio he said no I tried to convince him to

make me use it, he said it use to be his ex's study and

anytime he enters the room it brings memories of her,

I don't know what to think.

He probably hasn't gotten over her yet, Kemi said, I

think so I'm pregnant Kemi this can't be happening

now if he keeps acting this way our marriage might

not last, don't say that you need to find out why he

leaves the room every night why he smells like a

morgue why he talk to himself, you need to find out

all these before concluding.

What if I find out something very bad, you have to

many unanswered questions if I were you I'll find out

whatever it is even if it's bad I'll be glad I found out

the truth.

I feel like I don't know him anymore, she said crying 

Sewa you need to calm down you're pregnant, when

did all this start? The week we got back from

honeymoon but it got worse lately for the past 3

month he leaves the room everynight, everything will

be fine, Kemi said wrapping her arms around her.

I think we should go on a vacation you know to clear

your head what do you think? Kemi said with a big

smile, after I find out whatever it is going on with

Xavier, alright I need to run along now I have a photo

shoot in an hour, thanks for coming, anytime babe.

She saw her off to the front porch and waved as she

drove out.

She walked round the house looking if she could find

anything or know why he leaves the room

everynight , she turned the doorknob to Xavier's

favorite room luckily it was opened.

Why does he come here every night? isn't he over her

yet? He's he hiding something in this room? Why on

earth is this room empty and why does it have extra

doors? Something smells fishy around here, she

murmured and stepped out the room.

Xavier don't you think I need an helping hand

someone who can clean the house or cook, I'm getting

stressed out and you know my condition, do you clean

the house everytime? He asked angrily, why are you

getting worked up over this issue I need an helping

hand I can't keep doing all these by myself if you don't

want to get one for me I'll get one myself, I also have

work to do you know I don't mind coming home at

night to meet dinner and breakfast ready before I

wake up.

You don't need one Sewa why don't you quit your job

so you can have more time and we're about to have

our first child I'll take care of you, can you hear

yourself Xav I should quit my job to take care of the

house and our children, do you know how much

effort I put in this job just to get to where I am today

and you're asking me to quit just like that and you're

expecting me to say yes, you've got to be kidding I

think you should sleep I'll ask again tomorrow, she

said laying down, it's just a suggestion I don't like

having maids and chef in my house I like the way it's

just you and me in this house, Xavier said, that's your

problem Xav I'm getting a maid if you like it or not,

I'm going to bed please don't disturb me, I should quit

my job, she grumbled.

She laid on the bed quietly pretending to be asleep,

Xavier got home as usual and tiptoed out of the room,

she followed him making sure he didn't notice her.

Whatever it is you've been hiding I'm finding out

tonight, she whispered to herself.

He entered the empty room the one Sewa calls his

favorite room, he didn't shut the door he left it ajar

she snuck in and watched him open the other door in

the room, she tiptoed towards the door held the

doorknob to open it.
