She laid on her bed fast asleep with her sister next to 

her on facetime with her friends, she heard her 

sister's phone ring, she looked at her sister who was 

still sleeping, Sewa your phone is ringing, she tapped 

her to wake her up, who's calling? I don't know, check.

Hey babe, Xavier said, good morning, she said, were 

you sleeping? You woke me up, sorry I'm on my 

way to your place dress up before I get there, alright, 

she grumbling said and hanged up.

Don't tell me you're still facetiming with your friends, 

as you can see, don't they have work? they can hear 

you, please leave my room with your laptop i want to 

dress up, I'm not disturbing you, you can dress up no 

one is looking, I think you should take a shower first, I 

sure will I feel dirty.

How do I look? She asked her sister, you look good but 

I think you should use your long straight wig instead 

of the curly one, okay do I need to do make up, it's not 

a serious dinner, you're good to go, he should be here 

by now, she murmured, she picked her phone to call 

him, I thought you'd be here by now, I was just about 

to call you, I'm outside, alright, Tolani I'm leaving, 

alright bye, won't you say hi to Xav, I'll have to hang 

up, you can call them back when we leave, Mmm 

okay, I'll be right back guys don't go anywhere, she 

said to her friends.

Hey Xav, how are you doing? I'm good, how are you 

too? peachy, your sister told me you started acting, I 

really didn't know I have a celebrity right beside me, 

he giggled, I'm getting there soon, she smiled, that's 

good, how is it so far? Discouraging, why? I'm loosing 

interest, you shouldn't, gold doesn't shine without 

passing through fire cause it's not going the way you 

planned it now doesn't mean it never will, be patient 

and keep acting I promise you it'll get better, I believe 

thank you, she hugged him, you guys should leave

we'll talk when you get back, take care of yourself,he 

said I sure will, she said moving away from his car. 

I had a long day I'm so tired if only I can escape this 

meeting tonight, he grumbled, I left work by 1 today I 

needed that rest, I can't remember the last time I slept 

in the afternoon I feel so good I can't kill myself.

I caused it anyway the meetings I was suppose to have 

yesterday I moved them all to today, what meeting? I 

had meeting with each department in the company, 

we're about to drop something big and I signed an 

endorsement deal today, it's worth it, she said rubbing 

his shoulder, by the way you look good, he said 

smilimg, I always do, she giggled, you look tired, she 

said, I'm actually tired, sorry you can have a cold bath 

when you get home. 

I'm not having a cold bath without you, I'm not 

sleeping over at your place I have work, we can have 

that cold bath and still do your work, how? you won't 

let me work I need to design a dress for a client and 

she wants to see it tomorrow I haven't even designed 

my wedding dress, alright do your job.

I don't need a cold bath, he said, if you say so I'm just 

trying to help, she smiled at him, how many kids do 

you want us to have? he asked, three I don't mind the 

gender, mmmm I want all girls, he murmured, why? 

she asked, I love female children and it's always cute 

to have female kids especially when they're all female, 

he said, what about male children? They're terror

especially when they're all male, you're very silly, she 

giggled, here we are, he said turning off the ignition.

After dinner, Sewa sat with her fiance on a sofa in the 

lounge reminiscing.

Xavier I want to have a word with Sewa excuse us, 

his mom said has she walked up to them, he stood up 

to join his dad in the living room.

How are you doing? How's work? Very fine ma, how 

are you too? I'm good, I just want to talk to you a 

mother to daughter talk, I see you has my daughter

the one I never had, she giggled.

Xav can be really annoying, he was an angry child, 

when he turned 19 we couldn't control him again he 

was out of hand, his father sent him abroad to school, 

I was furious cause we couldn't control him here and  

sending him abroad is a big mistake, his father didn't 

care he didn't want him to ruin his name, I decided to 

go with him, Joshua was just 16 I couldn't leave him 

too we all left Nigeria together, why is she telling me?

Sewa said in her mind.

I made him see a therapist he started taking anger 

management classes, he got better really better, I 

didn't see that side of him again, he became silent he 

rarely even talks, I became scared whenever he's 

angry he doesn't say anything, that attitude grew with 

him, i prefer it cause it's better than the anger, he was 

really wild, she giggled.

How were you able to manage your marriage? Their 

father comes over once in two months and stay for a 

week or two before leaving, he became really calm, 

his father loved him again, when he turned 25 his 

father asked him to come back to Nigeria to manage 

his company, that was when we all came back to 

Nigeria, he started seeing a girl her was Belinda, she 

was his first, I thought they were going to end up 

together, suddenly she went missing nobody knows 

where she is till now, oh my God, Sewa said, he was 

broken he started acting weird, he started seeing a 

therapist again, after that, he tried dating so many 

times but it didn't last, when he told me he liked you I 

thought it was just the normal thing he does, but then 

he decided to marry you I'm so glad he wants to 

marry you, you changed so many things about him, I 

want to beg you Sewa if you notice any strange thing 

about him please come to me, I don't want what you 

guys have to end, please can you do that? I will mom, 

she smiled and hugged her.

Thanks for telling me all this, enough talk about Xav, 

when is the wedding haven't you picked a date yet? No 

we haven't, the introduction should be next weekend, 

I'll tell my mom and get back to you, that will be better 

my dear, I'm always available if you want to talk, she 

said, thank you ma I'll talk to your mom so we can 

pick a date for the introduction, like you said next 

week, we'll fix a date next week, that'll be better, Sewa 

said.

Are you done talking I'm really tired, Xavier said 

walking towards them, we're done talking, his mom 

said, I have work tomorrow and I'm so tired we 

should get going, I might come see you by weekend, he 

said, no problem I'm always be here, where's your 

dad? I thought you were talking to him, he went to the 

garden, alright, Sewa let's go if you're not tired, I am 

and I'm the one driving, wait what really happened in 

the office today, you've never been this tired, Sewa 

said, my joints are aching me, are you saying this so 

I'll sleepover at your place, it's not working, I'm not 

joking Sewa, sorry let's tell them we're leaving don't 

worry I'll drive, she giggled, it's not funny, he said, I 

know, sorry you're acting like a child use painkillers 

when you get home and have a cold bath and sleep

How was the dinner? Tolani asked her sister walking 

behind her to her room, it was good normal, what 

was it about? familiarity I guess, she spoke to me she 

told me about his childhood and she sees me as her 

daughter all those kind of talk, I see, Tolani said.

What did you have for dinner? and where's Kemi? I 

haven't had dinner, she went to get dinner for both of 

us and asked me to stay back cause you didn't take 

your key and might come back anytime, how long? 30 

mins ago, I hope you're not sleeping now, Tolani said, 

why? do you have a job for me, Kemi said I should tell 

you not to sleep before she gets back in case you get 

back before her, I think she wants to talk to you, think 

what do y'all take me for I don't sleep too much, we all 

know you love sleeping, that's because I work and I'm 

always tired after a long day I'm not sleeping early, I 

plan to design my wedding dress tonight, are you 

serious? I'm staying awake too, she smiled, did you 

talk to Xav about the interior? I'm sorry I forgot, I'll 

tell him tomorrow, alright change your clothes, I'll be

Sewa! Kemi called opening the door to her room, why 

do you like shouting? you can just open the door to 

check if I'm asleep or not, I only came to check on you 

why are you insulting me, I didn't insult you i just 

said you like shouting, I don't have your time girl, why
