A loud buzz came from the bedside alarm clock signifying it was yet again the morning of another day. The rays of the early morning sun managed to slip through the curtains and find its way to Tyler's face. It was Tyler's second day in his new school but unlike the previous day, Tyler reacted to the buzzing of the alarm clock with much joy and excitement as he jumps out of bed as if he had been awake all along. He walked over to the other side of the bed, got down and did 40 push ups. He had forgotten to do the previous day's own and now did double this morning to make up for it. Putting his daily work out in, he stood up, took off his clothes and entered the bathroom. Brushing his teeth as he stared into the mirror fixated on the wall in the bathroom, he noticed he has become comfortable looking at his own reflection, something that had scarred him few months back. Shaking the thought out of his head, he keeps brushing before then taking his bathe. Standing under the shower, with the warm water pouring on his head and travelling to the rest of his body, Tyler runs his hand through his black curly hair. His mind unknowingly drifts to Kaylee. She was truly the most beautiful girl he has ever seen, her innocent smile kept playing in his head, her small pinkish lips were perfect he thought. It was obvious she was the reason Tyler was so excited when he woke up. But Troy had warned him not to move close to her at all. He wondered why Troy would say something like that about someone as beautiful as Kaylee. "He must have his reasons." Tyler concluded though he wasn't ready to give up that easily. Snapping out of his day dreams and thoughts, he continued having his bathe. *** The 5 minutes bell rang signifying that classes would start in the next 5 minutes. Tyler hurries through the hallway into an office with the sign "COACH" boldly placed at the top of the door, at the extreme end of the hall. "Good morning Sir." Tyler greeted as he stepped into the office. "Good morning, how may I help you?" Coach Harris asked. He is a black American in his mid 40's but still had that very muscular build as we see his biceps and triceps showing from his fitted coach outfit. He had on his face a recommended glasses which he adjusted every now and then. "I'm Tyler, the football transfer student from Highsky High." "Ahh yes, Tyler. Well let me take a look at your transfer letter." "Right." Tyler remembered as he brought out a little brown envelope and gave it to coach Harris. Removing the content of the envelope, coach Harris adjusted his glasses and reads through the letter. After what seemed like forever, he puts the letter back into the envelope and hands it back to Tyler. "Very well then." Opening the right side drawer, he brings out a form and hands it over to Tyler. "Fill this form and submit it first thing tomorrow morning. Training happens Tuesdays and Thursdays lunch time and general free periods on Fridays. You'll be given your jersey and boots at training. Other information will be relayed to you by your captain." Coach Harris explained "Yes sir. I mean coach." Tyler answered as he collected the form and listened to all the man had to say. "Oh and Tyler?" Coach Harris called "Yes coach?" Tyler answered as he made for the door. "Welcome to the team." Coach Harris said with a short smile. "Thank you coach." Tyler answered and headed out.. Already 5 minutes late for his first class of the day, Tyler switched from walking fast to jogging through the halls and stairs till he reached his class. *** Entering the class, Tyler lets out a silent sigh as he see the teacher isn't around yet. He goes and seat beside Troy who was seated at the back row with earphones in his ear connected to his phone which he used in watching a movie. "You're late." Troy began as Tyler sat down. He had paused the movie he was watching and took of the earphones from his ear. He wore a blue shirt with the drawing of a wolf on it. The shirt was big and baggy but it looked very fashionable on Troy's body. "I had to see the coach before I forgot again." Tyler defended as he settled into this seat. "Right right, the main reason you transfered here isn't it?" Troy asked with a sarcastic tone, a tone Tyler recognized all too well. "You're not going to let this go, are you?" "Not one bit" Troy answered and beamed a childish smile at him. "Suit yourself." Tyler concluded as he gave up on convincing his friend. Across the classroom, Tyler's wandering eyes meet with that of Kaylee's. There it was, those beautiful brown eyes that had made him unable him to look away. Her small pinkish lips spread out into a beautiful innocent smile. Tyler was gone, entrapped in a world of Kaylee's making, a world he didn't want to leave either. Noticing his friend wasn't paying attention to all he was saying, Troy traced Tyler's eyes and saw he was staring at Kaylee, he hit Tyler on his lap. "What? What happened?" Tyler asked realising himself. He felt completely out of place. He had only been staring at Kaylee for a few seconds but it felt like minutes. "I thought I told you to stay away from her. If you don't understand, that also includes unnecessary cute eye contacts." Troy elaborated. "Yet you won't tell me why. I mean whathat could she have done for you to say that?" Tyler asked, it was obvious he wasn't ready to back down. This was only his second day of seeing Kaylee but he was ready to defend her as if his life depended on it. However he found it very strange as how Troy suddenly switched from been goofy and fun to been serious minded. Troy sighed before he began. "I'm just looking out for you, that's all, it's your second day and I don't want you to jump into things without careful thinking." Tyler knew Troy. True they had lost contact for a while when Troy transferred but Troy had always been his best and closest friend and he could always tell when he was lying but for now he decided not to push further. A few seconds later, the teacher entered the class and complete silence followed suite, replacing the noise and murmurs that was once the norm in the classroom. *** The bell rings for Lunch period. The football field was filled with students who were on the school's football team and also those who wanted to try out for the team, among which Tyler was. "Alright every body gather around!" Coach Harris's voice sounded loud as if enabled by an hidden speaker. The players surrounded him as they waited to hear him speak. "It's the beginning of a new session, meaning it's also the beginning of a new season for us. We have the local playoffs coming up soon, which if we win, secures us a spot on the state championships. So I want you all to give everything your best damn shot! I want you all to play like your life depends on it! I want you all to go out there and show those bastards that they won't mess with you! Are you with me?!!!" The coach let out with a powerful shout "Yeah!!!!" All the players echoed together. Motivation was one of coach Harris's strength and he had absolutely no issue dishing it to his team whenever they needed it. "Where the hell is Brian!?" Coach Harris asked no one in particular as he looked around. Just as the boys were about to answer, the sound of a car racing in forces everyone to look towards the direction the sound was coming from. The car came to an halt in the parking lot that was near the field. Stepping out of the car, Brian Swayers comes out of the car with finesse and style. Tyler wasn't one to take a second look at guys but there was no denying Brian's out of this world's handsomeness... There was a particular presence about him that felt scary but at the same time enticing and judging from how all the other players and even the coach were staring at him, it was obvious they all felt the same presence. Already dressed in his sport outfit, Brain walked towards the team. "Sorry I'm late coach." He apologized patting coach Harris on his shoulder, with a smile on his face. "I had some business to take care of." "It's fine Brian no problem at all." No problem at all? Tyler thought in his mind, wasn't this the man that was yelling Brian's name? What exactly was up with this this Brian guy? All these questions ran through Tyler's head as he listened absentmindedly to Brain addressing the team... *** It's 3pm and the sun was having the time of it's life giving out it's smile with reckless abandon. Luckily for Mrs Gatewood, the sun was prevented from sharing it's happy Rays to her thanks to the window blinds she had in her office. Mrs Gatewood worked in the health care service, having been a bright woman from the start she soon claimed the ladder of success and became the head officer of Highsky health's service. The big position was what afforded the office for her. It was big, almost the size of a king-size bedroom. There was a moderately big table located near the window with a swivel office chair placed at one end of the table which backed the window and two swivel office chairs were placed at the opposite end of the table. There was a vase at the center of the table, and in the vase was a "ZZ Plant". A picture of her and Tyler was placed near her end of the table, along with documents and a files. A standing air conditioner was placed at one end of the office. The walls were painted blue which was the same colour with the office uniform Mrs Gatewood had on. Going through the workload in her front, a call came in on her phone. Picking the call without taking a look at the caller she answered. "Hello, Felicia Gatewood, who am I speaking with?'' "Mary is dead." The voice from the other end of the call dropped the news without wasting time. The news was bound to come in anytime soon but still that didn't make it any easier to hear when it finally arrived. Mary had been her very good friend for decades and it hurt that she wasn't going to see her ever again. "Stone wants the preparation to begin right away. The body will arrive at the hospital by day's end." The call came to an end with that. Resting her back on the chair, Mrs Gatewood heaved out a sigh, apart from the fact that she and Mary were close friends what also made her sad and worried was that she knew quite alright the significance of her death. All she could do now is hope for the best. *** Deep in the woods, few miles away from the outskirts of Highsky High, the light from the waning crescent Moon illuminates the earth and rests on a castle located deep in the woods. The castle was extremely big and gigantic; one was bound to easily get lost inside without proper guide. Despite how big and mighty the castle looked, it was however dirty, unkempt and probably abandoned. Inside the castle, a young lady ran with full speed down the quiet and deserted hallway into the last room on the corridor and rushed in without knocking. "She's dead isn't she?" A figure sitting on a throne said before the lady could even talk. The figure's voice was deep and powerful, scary and at the same time rich and soothing. "How'd you know?" The lady asked as she finally stopped panting and caught her breath. "I felt it too." The figure responded. The reflection of the Moon from the window behind the throne makes the face of the figure hidden, but this didn't stop it's voice from carrying all the authority it needed. "So what happens now?" The young lady asked. "Now. It's time to go home." The figure answered and from the shadows, a pair of bright red eyes shone.
