It's 8pm on a Sunday night. The sun has retired for the day and the moon has taken over for the night shift, accompanied with the Stars in their multitude. The wind was gentle and had a peaceful touch - A good night to die some might even say. In an isolated house down the streets, the atmosphere inside was not the same with the one outside. "How's she doing?" Mr. Stone asked as he entered the house with another woman "Come see for yourself" Mr. Alec responded, leading them to a room located in the basement of the house. In the room we see a woman lying down on a bed with a drip connected to her hand. It became obvious she's the one Mr. Stone asked after earlier. She looked lifeless, very thin and pale. Silence lingered for a few seconds as the three adults stood and watched as life slowly slipped away from their colleague. "She's going to survive the night at least won't she?" Asked the other woman to no one in particular. "Yes she should but nevertheless, she doesn't have that long left." Mr Alec answered. "How long do you think she has left then? A week?" Mr stone asked, eyes fixated on Mary on her dying bed. "I highly doubt that. Roughly a day or two before it's over" Mr. Alec answered once again, this time in a low sad tone. Taking a step closer, Mr. Stone gently rests his hand on the woman's shoulder "How I'd fear this day Mary, rest well now my dear, your mission has come to an end" he said and planted a kiss on her forehead. "You will be missed". With that he turned and faced his other two colleagues "Has the neccessary precautions been taken?" "We've placed lookouts at every border of the town. If any supernatural crosses in, we'll know immediately." Mr. Alec answered. "Good." Facing the other woman. "Mrs. Gatewood, reach out to your contact in the hospital and start working on how to cover up Mary's death before it happens. We can't afford to be caught unaware, we also don't want them asking too much questions." "Understood" The woman who was now identified as Mrs Gatewood answered. There was silence for a brief moment... The next few days were going to be most trying times of their entire term of governance and judging from now absent minded they all were, it was obvious they had the same thing to think about.. "What happens now? You don't think he'll be back, do you?" Mr. Alec asked breaking the silence. Mr. Stone looks at him, takes a look at Mary's helpless body and gazes out through the window in the room. *** The alarm clock went off letting us know that it's 7am on a Monday morning. The sun was on its way back to it's work station and the birds were singing and dancing in their homes. It's the beginning of a new academic session and for most students it's usually a day they enjoy a lot because it meant they get to move to a higher class and also means they're one year away from graduation. The Juniors becomes seniors and the seniors move out of school. But Tyler wasn't having any of the excitement of the new session. He still laid on his bed, face facing up with the duvet covering his entire face. The bedside alarm clock went off once again and this sent Tyler into a rage. "For the love of God!!!" He shouted as he took the duvet off his face, grabbed the alarm clock and made to throw it against the wall but later decided against it. Finally succumbing to the alarm, he stood up from the bed and stood in the middle of the room. The room was moderately big for a teenage boy, the bed was big for one person and was covered with a blue duvet. The room has a typical male smell in a good way though. Tyler walked to the front of the mirror that was stationed on a part of the wardrobe. Looking at his reflection, all he felt was remorse and sadness. The past few weeks and months haven't been the most favourable to him, having to change schools was the height of it all. He had been the cause of everything that happened and had come to terms with his punishment and determined to become better. Rubbing his knuckles, we see bruises on them and dried blood stains. Letting out a heavy sigh, he entered the bathroom to have his bathe. *** Arriving at his new school, Tyler pauses at the gate to take it all in. The school "Beginners High School" was one of the best and the biggest school in the town and neighboring towns too. Walking into the big and gigantic school, Tyler couldn't help his surprise. Looking left and right were buildings for classrooms and the adminstrative offices. There were students present too at each corner of the school; Some were in groups seen talking and laughing together and some stood alone admiring the environment — New students like Tyler. *** Tyler opens the door and walks into a classroom. The class is almost filled up with students with first few empty seats left. Tyler takes a seat at the back, near the window. His entry isn't noticed by anyone as everyone is engrossed in one thing or the other with other people – except one person. After settling into his seat, Tyler raised his head up to take a look around and his eyes briefly met with hers. "What's she starring at?" Tyler wondered in his mind. "Earth to Kaylee!!!" Jane exclaimed, calling her friend's attention back to her "Sorry I got carried away for a minute" Kaylee apologized taking her eyes off Tyler. "Something feels off with him" she thought in her mind. "You were checking out the new guy weren't you?" Jane asked with a smirk "No... Well yes but not in the way you think" "Hey no need to defend yourself I won't judge" Jane added playfully. As the teacher entered the class, so did silence. "Good morning class, My name is Mr. Henry and I welcome you to your first History class of the term." Looking around he notices Tyler. "Seems we have a new student in our midst. Care to introduce yourself?" The whole class turns backs to look at Tyler. "My name is Tyler Gatewood, I'm a transfer student from Highsky High." "Welcome Tyler, we hope you enjoy our presence as we hope to enjoy yours." He turns to the board and begins to write. "We'll begin by examining the first world war". *** It's break time, the class is rather empty with only Tyler seen in it. He stared out of the window with black earphones in his ears which matched the colour of his shirt and trouser. He was listening to "The Search" by NF. The earphones had the inscription "b" on both sides a product of the famous Beats by Dre. Lost in his thoughts and carried away by the music, tyler is jolted back to reality when a hand taps him from behind. He looked back and let's out a shocked expression. "No f*****g way!" He said with joy embracing the guy that tapped him. "When they told me we had a new student who's name was Tyler Gatewood, I had to come and see for myself." The guy said after embracing Tyler. "How have you been Troy, it's been so long man." Tyler asked. "Ever since you left Highsky High no one's heard from you." He added. "Life happened bro, it's so good to see you too." Troy replied. He had a height of 5'11 and was a little shorter than Tyler who was six feet tall. His hair was neatly trimmed and styled which brought out his handsomeness. "Come on, let's go eat, while you tell me what made you transfer here." He added smiling. They both head out and make way to the school's cafeteria. *** "So you're saying you transfered here mainly for football?" Troy asked in disbelief in his tone as he and Tyler entered the cafeteria. "What's so hard to believe Troy? Everyone knows Beginners High is the best school to be if you want a career in football." Tyler defended as they got their lunch from the counter. "Let me go save us some seat" Troy said as he left Tyler at the counter still been attended too "Okay man." A few seconds later he was done at the counter. Turning back to head back to their seats, Tyler collided with Kaylee and pours his lunch away in the process. Almost instantly they both bent down to sort out the mess. "I'm so sorry I should have watched where I was going." She apologized eyes fixed on the little stains on her cloth. "It's okay, there's no ne-" Tyler began but couldn't bring himself to finish his sentence as his eyes met with her deep brown eyes. Sound drops around them and it suddenly felt like they were the only two people in the world at the moment. "Wow" Tyler thought in his mind. Her face had a oval shape, her lips were small yet full and pink. Her blonde hair was neatly styled and balanced perfectly on her beautiful white skin. She was arguably the most beautiful girl Tyler had ever laid his eyes on. "He's far more handsome up close" Kaylee thought in her mind. Truly she wasn't checking him out earlier in class but she did notice his handsomeness back then but seeing him this close took her to a whole new level. Was it his deep light brown eyes or his full thick pinkish lips or was is it his dimples as he smiled softly at her. His hair was neatly trimmed too and boy was he handsome. Quickly pulling herself together, she took her eyes off Tyler when it began to get awkward. "I'm Kaylee by the way." "Tyler." He said with his hand stretched out to hold hers as they both stood up. "I know." She said with a cute smile. " Right, 'The new student' " Tyler figured and smiled back. "Well I guess I'll see you around then, Kaylee." He added as he took his leave. Taking a look back at her, he notices her shapes and body figure. For a 17year old, she was well endowed and had killer hips that brought out the figure eight shape. She's nice" Tyler concluded as he sat beside with Troy with what was left of his lunch and started eating.. Turning back to see who Tyler was talking about. "Kaylee? I'd stay away from her if I were you." Troy advised as he continued eating. "Why? What's wrong with her?" "That's a story for another day my friend. Eat up." Troy ended the conversation as they continued eating. *** It's 8pm, the streets were lit with street lamps, the roads busy with cars and people just returning from their different places of work to their houses after the day's hectic work. In the residence of the Gatewood; it's dinner time. Tyler steps out of the kitchen which was located beside the dining room, with two plates of Macaroni and cheese. "Here you go." Tyler said as he dropped one plate in front of his mum before moving to seat opposite her. Taking his seat, he takes a look at his mum, and beamed a beautiful smile, a smile she definitely returned. It was one of the many things they had in common. Soon they began eating. The dining room wasn't that big but it had moderate space with the brown coloured table placed in the middle with four chairs each at one side. A middle sized chandelier hung right over the table and illuminated the whole dining space. A fruit jar was placed at the center with a flower vase right beside it. "So how was your first day at school?" She asked after a few moments of silence, if we're to ignore the sound their plates and forks made. "It was fine, great actually" He replied as his mind ran through the day's highlight. "I met Troy, you remember him right?" "I do, yes. Well I'm glad you found someone you know already." "How was work?" Tyler asked back "You know, the usual, nothing spectacular or out of the ordinary." Mrs Gatewood answered as she cleaned the crumps that managed to stay on her lips and not inside her mouth. "I should get some sleep, busy day tomorrow." With that she stood up, walked over to Tyler and pecked him on his forehead. "Don't stay up to late young man." "I'm off to bed anyway." Tyler shouted back with a smile. Entering his room, he collapses on his bed and soon falls asleep.
