The company's car dropped Laurain home.
Laurain reached home by 1am in the morning, when she entered, the lights were off. It was completely dark in the apartment.
After adjusting her eyes, to the darkness, She saw Tom sitting on the sofa staring straight at her.
She knew he was waiting for an explanation. But she can't tell him much about her.
She just took a step forward.
"Stay right there" tom gritted out, he was burning in rage by now. He was so worried about her and now she's coming home leisurely, she didn't even bother answering his calls.
He came infront of her in a second, grabbed her arms and slammed her in to the wall.
"Where in the hell were you?"
"I...."
"Have you seen what time it is?" He shouted at her.
He was really worried about her, his heart came to his throat, when she didn't even answered his calls, he searched everywhere they went together, thinking that she might have gone to one of those places.
He thought of her as a simple and naive twenty year old girl. He thought that this country was totally foreign for her. He was waiting for her to explain herself and apologize for her carelessness.
Laurain, who was unaware of all his worrying, didn't understand the need to explain herself. She can't tell him that she is a president of a big company and was working overtime.
"I don't need to explain myself" her answer, worked as oil on the already burning fire.
His grip which was loosened a little again tightened around her arms.
"Huh, so you don't need to explain yourself?" He repeated her question.
"Yes, you don't need to know where I was"
And he crashed his lips on her smooth ones.
"Umm..."
Laurain was caught off guard, she didn't knew that he could do such a thing, her hands went on his chest to push him away but to no avail, her bag was already on the ground.
He just grabbed her wrists tightly and locked them on either side of her head with the wall, not breaking the kiss.
He kissed her really harshly, her long clip was clicked open and her long hairs were set free.
"Umm.."
Laurain tried her best to resist him but she couldn't. His anger level was at its maximum.
He kissed her for straight five minutes, poor Laurain who doesn't had any experience in kissing was left breathless, her face had turned red due to lack of oxygen.
She was taking big gulps of oxygen, her wrists still locked with his hands.
"Next time, if you try to pull this type of stunt, I'll lock you here. And I'm..your..husband.. I have the right to know where the hell were you" he whispered in her ears, and before he lost his control he immediately left for his room.
Laurain just stood there trying to get a grip at what just happened.
She went to her room and layed flat on the bed staring at the ceiling, she rewinded the whole thing in her mind again, her hand went to her lips. She then remembered that he was still in her office suit.
Was he worried about me? But why?
"He doesn't know you, he might have thought that you got kidn*pped, he thinks you are new in this country" her conscience finally spoke.
Oh yes, we are friends so ofcourse he would have been worried.
She could see her conscience rolling her eyes.
"He is also your 'husband'"
"Husband?" She spoke out loud
"I don't have time for a normal human husband"
"Then get married with an animal" her conscience interrupted her.
Laurain chuckeld at her own thoughts.
She checked her mobile and their were 55 missed calls and 30 messages from tom, she put her phone on silent because she was in a meeting and even afterwards she didn't bother checking it. She went to sleep deciding she will explain him tomorrow.
The next day, came earlier then expected, Laurain made breakfast as usual for both of them, she was planning to explain tom about yesterday.
Tom came out his room and went straight to the door
"Breakfast...." She started but tom cut in
"I'm not hungry" and he went out.
Sigh
"He's really angry"
Laurain had her breakfast and went to her company. She has to knock some sense in the employees of the accounting department.
It was 2pm when, Laurain just finished a three hour meeting with the whole accounting department.
She walked to her cabin when her phone ringed, it was a different ringtone she specially set for important matters, even if her phone was on silent if that person called it will always ring.
"Hello" Laurain picked up.
"Sister, where are you right now" a man asked hurriedly.
"Country C" laurain replied seriously, she didn't want what she was thinking to happen in reality.
"Ahhh, sister.." the man pulled his hair out in frustration.
"Speak clearly" Laurain ordered in her cold tone, which was dropping octaves low as time passed by.
Ace took a deep breath, on the other side
"They came to know, you're in country C"
He didn't hear anything for a second or two, but then a loud crash.
Laurain who heard this banged her fist on the table with so much force that it broke, the glass table had a thickness of one inch. The laptop, glass, files, mug everything fell down with the table being broken.
"HOW?" She gritted out,
Ace hearing her voice, shivered, only he knows how happy he was that he was not present there at the moment. She would have buried him alive.
"I am finding out" He was about to say 'I don't know' but he changed his sentence, in order not to let her unleash her anger on him.
"If there is a traitor there....beleive me I'll burry every one of you alive with him" Laurain eyes were filled with pure rage. She really wanted to kill someone right now.
"Yes Boss, I'll report you in a few hours" Ace said trying to cut the call, but before he could do that he heard the most dreaded words
"An hour, I'm giving you an hour"
Ace gulped.
"Yes boss" and he cut the call.
Ahh how am I going to find the traitor among this whole army of people.
His eyes suddenly widened, as a horrible thing came in his mind.
How can I not tell her about such an important matter. I should kill myself mercifully before she comes and butchers me herself.
He with slightly shivering hands again called Laurain.
"What?" She said in her deep frozen voice.
He took a deep breath.
"Sis, there is something else I have to report, there is human trafficking group in countryC at the moment, they are planning to sold girls and children to the black market.."
He said in a single breath.
"Send me the address" she commanded.
He felt, a chill down his spine. It was as if she was staring at him with her deadly aura.
He knew what she was planning to do.
"But there are more than hundred people, should I send team alpha"
"No need, send 5 new trainees"
"Sis..." before he could complete his sentence she cut the call.
But they are the most cruelest g**g.
On the other hand,
Director Ben, who was working as laurain's secretary for two days now was coming to give her some files, when he heard a loud crash from inside her office, he was scared out of his wits.
What happened to this Devil now?
Ahh I don't want to go inside and check.
He gathered some courage, for his colleagues and employees as they don't want to spend another night in office, knocked on the door, and entered in her office.
Laurain stood near the floor to ceiling window looking out at the busy city. It was 7pm already.
The office was completely dark as the lights were off, they could be operated by voice commands, but only on laurain's voice.
She just stared out looking at the cars passing by, her face blank not showing an ounce of emotion.
Before Ben could say anything
" The accounts department has a problem, there is a sum of money missing from the company's account, investigate about it, before taking any action report to me."
Laurain robotic cold voice came.
She turned around gave him a harsh look.
"Y..ye..yes b..b..boss" he was frightened by her bloodthirsty glare.
Laurain took her handbag and left, she herself drove her black BMW.
She thought that tom would be home by now, she needed to tell him that she will be going.

Laurain parked her, she was about to go in but she thought of taking a relaxing stroll first. She turned and walked in the opposite direction.
Their house was in city center so it was rush hour. Her mind filled with different thoughts.
She stood with the pedestrians waiting for the signal to open.
Tom was on the other side, busy talking with someone on mobile. He didn't see laurain.
The APS( accessible pedestrian signal) rang indicating them to walk.
Laurain saw tom, and was waiting for him to come to her side so they could go together.
A black car was coming speedily directly towards the pedestrians, tom was busy talking with his friend on the phone as he care-freely walked towards laurain.
Laurain saw the car coming towards him, as many people have already moved to the sides. The car was very near him. She immediately moved towards him pushing him out of the way, just as she pushed him.
Her eyes landed on a man and she went completely blank, her feet froze as if it they were glued she couldn't move an inch, her eyes widened, she just stood there staring at him. Taking in his form, his face, his dark brown eyes. She couldn't believe her eyes, she couldn't understand her emotions anymore.
Her eyes starting to turn red gradually.
CRRAASSSHHHHHH!!!!!!!
The car hit Laurain with full force and she crashed with the windshield of the car with full force and then rolled down. The last thing she saw was the mans back, as she layed in her pool of blood and he turned around and walked away. She raised her hand in his direction trying to stop him.
Why? Why? After so many years.
And darkness consumed her.
