CHAPTER 5

BELLA'S POV “What's going on here?” I heard Ethan say with a scowl on his face and my heart sank in fear. He walked closer to our side and suddenly grabbed Edward's shirt as he raised his hand to throw a punch. “What? I was just keeping your wife company since you were so busy with your mistress.” Edward replied with a low voice and Ethan's hand froze in the air. “What are you talking about? How did you know that?” He asked in shock as he turned to me with a scowl. “Did you tell him?” He asked, and I quickly shook my head as I tried to explain, but Edward beat me to it. “Why do you have to blame everything on her? You're the one who couldn't keep your tracks clean. I'm sure you know what would happen to you if this gets exposed…” He said with a sly smirk and the veins in Ethan's nearly popped out with how angry he was. Thankfully, the hall was dimly lit and no one noticed the conflict between both of them. The glaring contest was getting terrifying and I knew I had to find a way to stop them. “Ethan, the auction is over, let's go home,” I said softly as I got up and held his hand that was still in the air. He turned to look at me, obviously angrier than he was before but he lowered his hand and let go of Edward's shirt. “You just wait till we get home.” He growled at me and my heart sank. Edward, however, wasn't pleased to hear that so he grabbed Ethan's shirt and pulled him closer. “If you dare lay your hands on her-” “What I do with my wife is none of your f*****g business. She's my wife. Mine!” He yelled as he pried Edward's hands off him and pushed him backward. What was this possessiveness? I've never seen Ethan act this way towards me before. Before Edward could gain his composure, Ethan grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the hall with him while I followed him helplessly. We got into the car and the driver drove us home in silence. The tension in the car was so thick that I could slice it with a knife. I turned slightly to look at Ethan and I could see his jaw clenching in anger. His fists were also balled up so tight that his knuckles turned white. The moment the car came to a stop, Ethan pulled me out of the car with him and dragged me all the way to his room before settling me down on his bed. “Ethan, I-” “What were you thinking, huh? Flirting with my brother? Are you crazy? Do you know how dangerous he is?” He questioned as he ran his hand through his hair and paced around the room. “I wasn't flirting with him! He was the one that came up to me-” “He clearly kissed you on your neck and you let him! You're my wife for f**k's sake! How could you let another man kiss your neck?” “You're my husband and yet you left me for your mistress! Don't you think you're being unfair to me?” I retorted as I stood up and his eyes narrowed at me. “This is different. You belong to me, I don't belong to you. Don't try to twist things up.” He muttered and a scoff escaped my lips as I smiled bitterly. Before I could speak, his eyes narrowed on the necklace on my neck, and my heart spiked when he glared at me in fury. “Take it off this instant.” He commanded and I placed my hands over the necklace as I shook my head gently. “I can't… I really wanted it and he got it for me at a costly price!” The moment the words left my lips, I was pushed backward, and I found myself pinned to the wall by Ethan. Rage clouded his expression as he looked at me and I trembled at how scary he looked. “You won't take it off? I'll do it myself!” He then yanked the necklace off my neck and I gasped in shock as he threw it across the room. “You're not allowed to wear anything that wasn't given to you by me, understood?” He yelled as he pushed me even closer to the wall and I let out a soft whimper of pain. “Why are you doing this to me, Ethan? What have I done to deserve this?” I asked in tears and he slammed his hand on the wall, causing me to flinch in fear. “You're mine. Always remember that. What happened today should never repeat itself or else… I wouldn't hesitate to murder someone.” He said in a low voice before letting me go, and I winced when I felt a liquid trickle down my neck. I touched it to see that it was blood. It must have been when he dragged the necklace off my neck. “Come here.” He said and I turned to see him with a first aid box as he sat on the bed. I hesitated but when he raised his brow at me, I had no choice but to do as he said. I sat on the bed and he started to gently clean the blood that flowed down my neck. The way he was focused on cleaning the blood off me made my heart skip a bit. He was always so hot and cold. Making me feel butterflies and then making me regret my life decisions. “If you want, I'll get another one crafted for you. Just stay away from my brother or any other man. It gets me violent.” He said softly as he applied the antiseptic to the bruised area and I winced in pain at the harsh sting. “Ethan, I-” I was about to apologize when he interrupted me as he placed a bandage on my neck. “Get some rest. I have unfinished business to take care of.” He said plainly as he kept the box aside and I frowned in confusion. “What business?” I asked in curiosity and he turned to look at me with a creepy smile as he leaned down and brushed my hair away from my face. “Let's just say it involves making someone pay for their actions today.”
