Kim, Haley and I planned on getting ready at my place. But two hours ago, Haley said she was just going to hitch a ride with a neighbor and meet us there. I’m conflicted about how to wear my hair. A high sporty ponytail or a side fishtail braid. I leave my hair and gather my brushes to go ahead with my make-up. I even got us faux jerseys bearing the school’s colors, and they are laid idly on my bed as we put on our makeup and do our hair. Kim frowns from beside home. “I don’t think I should wear make-up...” I turn to look at her. “Why?” She shrugs and looks everywhere but at me. “It’s safer and won’t call attention.” I sigh and pull her in for a hug. “Awwn, don’t ever say that!! You’ll look gorgeous and to hell with whoever wants to look, let them look.” She smiles at my swearing
