Chapter Seven SARAH I tore down the dark hallways, taking random turns until I was totally lost. Behind me, Dymitri’s faint voice called for me, but I ignored him and kept running until I was certain I was out of his reach. I came to a trembling halt beside a huge tapestry and slid down the stone wall opposite, collapsing into a heap on the floor and heaving in deep, ragged breaths. I glared at the swirling patterns in front of me. Embroidered dragons flew through a woven landscape, strong and majestic. I dropped my gaze to my lap and hugged my knees in close. I want to go home.
