ANN GODDARD OPENED the door and smiled at them. McNamara considered her smile was more appropriate to welcome two policemen than McNeil’s ironic words. Soon though, he realised the two women weren’t anything alike. McNeil had proven a complex and witty personality, while Ann’s wit was barely there. He showed the woman his ID and asked her to allow them inside because they had some questions for her. As expected, he didn’t face any opposition. Soon, they found themselves in a room of the same size as McNeil’s drawing room. McNamara remembered well McNeil’s room, with its functionality and cosiness. He doubted he’d forget anything related to that woman soon. At first glance, Goddard’s drawing room drowned in cushions. Pink curtains with small roses on them shaded the window. Pink abound
