“You look a hell of a lot better than you did last night,” Noah said when Cory appeared at the diner late Saturday afternoon. “I feel better, too. It must have been a twenty-four-hour bug, not what Mr. Winston had. He’s back at work though, so he’s shaken whatever it was.” “Meaning you can slack off and come over here,” Noah said, grinning. “Well, not sure about that, but at least I’m not being run ragged, although neither of us is in top shape yet.” “Have a seat and I’ll buy you supper.” “You don’t have to,” Cody protested. “Eh, what are friends for? I’m just glad you’re okay.” Cody opened the menu, studying it. “Anything?” “From the vast selection of five items? You bet.” “Are they going to expand it?” “I think so, now that they know people like the place.” That was half true.
