Chapter 6

She teased me

Colt's POV

My mate's scent is getting stronger as I approach the Alpha hallway, memories of my childhood running through this same place, chasing after Jeremy or playing a prank on a member of the staff come to life as I continue to walk. I never cared for his sister before, never really saw her much back when we were children, but I keep going to the last time I was here, where was she? why did I not know then that she was my mate, she had to at least 19 or 20.

FLASH BACK 2 YEARS AGO

COLT'S SIDE OF THE STORY

"Colt, please, I need you, I'm hurt!" I hear Pam's voice through the mind link, almost like a whisper

I asked her to help me with preparations to welcome Alpha Landon from Diamond Moon pack, who came to talk about a business proposal.

Everything went great, we came to an agreement that will benefit both packs and tomorrow morning we will start with preparations for phase one.

Pam is supposed to leave after breakfast, once she make sure everything goes smooth to move on with our plans. She stays in one of the guest rooms to make it easier.

"Pam, where are you? How are you hurt?" It is one In the morning, I am worried about her, what could've happen?

"I'm in the guest floor, third room, please help me" She sounds really hurt. I get up immediately and exit my room running down the stairs towards her.

"Andrew, something happened to Pam, please check with patrol if they have seen anything weird." I command my Beta who is always ready to help me.

"On it Alpha" He responds and we cut the link.

I get in the room where Pam said she was and I find her laying on the floor, covered in blood, she has bruises and scratches all over.

"Pam, what happened?" I pick her up and put her on the bed, I mind link an Omega to get the doctor, while I try to keep her alive.

"Colt, Alpha Landon, he did this, don't let him get away." My blood is boiling after hearing her words, he was my guest and he hurt my friend in my house!

"Andrew, Landon attacked Pam, he must be on his way out, do not let him go!" I alert my Beta. I will kill that bastard!

I run to the front where I see Landon trying to get in his car, but I am able to stop him, I pull him from the car, throwing him on the ground.

He tries to get up but I don't let him, I push him back hurting his head hard on the ground, but it doesn't do anything to him, he smiles and starts laughing like a maniac.

"That b***h could have anything she wanted, instead she rejected me, I had to teach her a lesson!" He starts saying frantically. I can't understand what he is saying, I only see red as I throw myself at him shifting and taking him be the neck, he is able to push me, but he is bleeding pretty bad, he lounges at me with his wolf, I react immediately moving aside and taking his face with my claws, I poke his eye and it is pretty much hanging from his face, blood coming out. He falls on the ground, I jump on him landing on his neck, I am going to rip his head off, he has to die!

"Colt, you are going to kill him, stop, stop right now." Andrew yells at me, making me come back to my senses, while Landon's body is motionless below me.

Landon's Beta took his Alpha's body after we notify him of what he did, warning him not to try anything because we will not hesitate to start a war with them.

Pam recovered a few days later, meanwhile the council called me in for a meeting to explain myself. Dalton helped me through the whole process, invited me to his pack house for a few days to help me prepare and thanks to him, I was exonerated and they gave me Diamond pack to lead since their Alpha was no longer there, he died shortly after the incident, according to his Beta, who left the pack after the announcement that Diamond pack was mine.

A few weeks later we found out that Pam was pregnant and I vowed to take care of her and her child, since her family disowned her. Very few people know the truth, I was able to keep Pam's name out of everything, but rumors started to spread everywhere , making my life difficult at times.

I stop at my mate's door, trying to decide if I should knock or just go in uninvited. I stop as I hear muffled cried, and beging through the door, the walls are sound proof but standing this close to the door, I can hear something and is not good.

"Someone is hurting her, do something!" My wolf urges me.

I burst the door open and I see my mate being forced on the bed by a mutt who is about to mark her.

My blood is boiling at the scene, how dare he do this to a female, but more importantly how dare him touch my mate!

"Kill him!" My wolf commands, and that is exactly what I'm going to do.

"Get off my mate!" My words come out of my chest with a warning growl from my wolf, that makes the room shake and the windows tremble.

I walk towards them and I pull him off her, my anger rises when I see blood coming out of her marking spot, the bastard pierced her skin!

"No, she is mine!" He dares to challenge me, I push him to the balcony outside the room breaking the glass, feeling how small pieces cut my hands and face as I make my way through, my wolf is taking control of my body, coming to the surface to protect his mate.

I can hardly hear Jeremy when he comes in demanding an explanation, while the bastard that was forcing my mate is practically hanging from the balcony and I will kill him to show everyone that nobody messes with me.

I feel myself being pulled away while Beta Marcus holds that bastard so he doesn't fall.

"She teased me for two years, she promised we would be mates." The mutt that is probably no older than 23 yells looking at my mate who is crying looking to the floor. His words stab my heart making the increasing pain almost want to bent, everything makes sense now, her rejection was because some how, my mate, had some kind of arrangement with this bastard!

"She probably would have, if she hadn't found her mate you idiot." Jeremy yells at him, trying to contain himself.

"I've had enough of this Jeremy, I have to kill this scum, if I hadn't came when I did, he would have marked her." I say, I can't let this guy live after what he did, my wolf demands blood, he wants to see the mutt suffer.

"Colt, we will handle it and I promise we will take great pleasure in punishing this warrior." He says, leaving me no choice as we are in his territory.

"And you!! You are leaving with your mate tonight. You are lucky this dumb ass didn't mark you." Jeremy yells at his sister who is still crying. My urge to console her is big but she doesn't deserve any consideration after what she did.

"Alexia, how could you do this? I knew you were having some kind of relationship but to promise yourself to someone that is not your mate? Are you crazy?" Dalton says with rage behind his words, his disappointment and embarrassment is evident.

"Dad, I'm sorry, I thought he loved me, he made me believe all his promises. I am so sorry, I was in love, it was a mistake! I never thought I would meet my mate." Her words make my heart ache, she might as well rip it from my chest and watch me die painfully. She is in love with this rat! She has caused me so much pain, I should punish her for it!

"Dalton, Jeremy, I think is time I leave with my mate" I try to sound strong and confident, but the truth is I'm dying inside and is taking everything in me to stand.

"Alpha, the party is about to end. We would appreciate it if you maybe leave after everyone has left. " Luna Ali asks me and I can't deny her this request. I also don't want any more rumors going around within the different packs, I've had enough of that and now I have a mate to think off.

"I will do as you ask Luna, it would give Alexia time to calm down and come to terms with the fact that she might not see her family in some time." I see Luna Ali flinch a little when she hears the last sentence, but Alexia will have to be punished somehow, plus I we will need time to get to know each other. "I see her suitcases are packed so we can use this time to talk if you don't mind." I say as composed as I can.

"Of course, why don't we leave the two of you alone, we will send someone to let you know when the coast is clear." Dalton says while everyone follows him out.

Marcus still has a tight grip on the bastard that was trying to claim my mate, he looks at her while giving me a sinister smile before they take him away.

The door closes leaving us alone again, she is sitting on her bed looking down ashamed, she is shaking, my heart is slowly breaking seeing her like that. Damn mate bond that won't let me be angry at her, my need to protect her and give her comfort is bigger than any anger I may feel.

"I'm sorry." She cries, her wrists still have bruises from the tight grip he had her on. She is covering her neck shamefully, I have never been one to be weak but I now understand that from this moment on, she will be my only weakness. I walk towards her and sit next to her, I have to make a big effort to show her I am not the cruel man she thinks me to be.

"Let me see." I tell her taking her hand and examining the wound on her neck. It looks like he didn't get too far, a little trace of blood on her long slender neck, but by tomorrow she will be fine.

" I won't ask for explanations right now, but you owe me one. You are my mate and from this moment forward we communicate, understood?" I say, trying to sound understanding but firm.

She doesn't say anything, but she looks at me with tears still running down her face, her beautiful eyes now sad and dull from all the crying. My mate looks so innocent and sweet but something tells me that we have a long road of ups and downs, we haven't been mated for a day and she is already proving to be challenging.

I pull her to my embrace breathing in her scent, she is the reason of my anger and yet she is the reason I feel so at ease right now.

Her arms wrap around me and hug me tight, I know she is feeling the mate bond she was just trying to fight it because of that Warrior, she just said she loves and that makes my blood boil.

"I'm sorry." She says again, this time looking at me and I can't resist those hazel eyes, she has so many emotions in them, my heart completely melts at the sight of them.

I can't resist her and I lean in closer, I kiss her slow, savoring her, she tastes sweet, she is becoming like a drug to me. Her delicious scent is overwhelming, I swear I could mate her right here if she wasn't so vulnerable.

She breaks our kiss but gives me a tender smile.

"I am not ready for the whole mate thing, you are gonna have to give me time." She says holding my hand and looking into my eyes. I will take that as a sign that she accepts me, for now my wolf is content.
