The Meeting

Ariah’s POV

I couldn’t believe what happened in English. I had everyone questioning me, asking what I had done to upset the evil Alpha. I had no words, I didn’t know what I had done wrong. Sam was on one, he was ready to go to war with him, he was pissed he snapped at me like he did.

The first half of the day went by pretty fast and, luckily, I didn’t see Alpha Ryder in any of my other classes. I did my all to avoid him although, rumour has it, he hasn’t left the gym all morning, so that put me at ease.

It was lunch time so I headed over to the cafeteria with Zoey, her brother Zack, Sam and Caitlin. I was so hungry I could hear my tummy rumble. When we walked into the cafeteria, all eyes were on me. I could hear everyone whispering about me, how I was a dead girl walking, but I tried to put it at the back of my mind.

I saw a girl I’m familiar with walking over. Great, the school b***h, this is all I need! Could my day get any worse?

“Ariah” she snapped at me.

“Yes, Lucy, right?” I asked, looking up at her.

“Great so you know my name. Then you will also know that Ryder is mine. It’s probably in your best interest to stay away from him” she snarled.

Goddess, what was with everyone and this b****y lad!

“Don’t worry, I plan on it” I say, rolling my eyes.

“Good” she chirps, showing me her wolf nails “because I don’t like to share what is mine. I wouldn’t want to have to show you what I mean by that” she grins at me.

“Do one Lucy, no one is taking your man” Zoey shouts at her, making everyone who wasn’t already looking glance in our direction.

“Just making sure I’m clear” she giggles as she walks away.

Bitch!

“You really have stirred something up today haven’t you, Ariah” Caitlin says as she sits down next to me.

“It would seem that way but I actually haven’t done anything” I say looking so confused. “today is just giving me a headache”

I lay my head on the table when someone bangs their hand on it, making me jump up.

“Alpha Ryder is requesting your presence in the gym” the guy Matt, who kindly introduced himself earlier, was looking at me.

I know Matt is Alpha Ryder’s Beta and I was never gonna argue back with him, but why the goddess would he want to see me? I don’t even know the lad. I don’t want to know the lad either!

“Why” is all I could get out.

“Do I look like I care why? If I were you, I wouldn’t be asking questions, I would be running as fast as I could to the gym” he smiles, not a friendly smile, more evil “you wouldn’t wanna keep the Alpha waiting now would you?”

I freeze up ever so slightly. I really don’t want to go, I want to go home if anywhere, but I know he’s right. I should be running there as fast as I can. By the looks of it, he already wants to make my life hell. Why give him more of a reason to?

“Okay”, I stood up giving him a little smile, trying to show I was not afraid.

“Want me to come with you” Zoey asks as she stands beside me.

“Best you go on your own small stuff, I don’t think he wants an audience” Matt says, giving me evil eyes.

“I’ll be fine Zo” I tried to reassure her.

I’m hoping if I go there and show him that I’m not a threat to him, all this madness will stop and I can be left alone.

I walked out of the cafeteria and started making my way to the gym. My heart is beating out of my chest. Scared is a slight understatement, but I’m not going to show him that. Moonshadow already thinks Sunlit is a weak pack. I am not about to prove them all right.

I get to the gym doors, taking a deep breath, I push them open and walk in.

Ryder’s POV

Ariah walks into the gym and her radiant smell just hits me. I closed my eyes, taking it in, yet to turn around to face her. Ariah, it’s such a beautiful name.

“You wanted to see me” her sweet voice takes me away from my thoughts.

I turned around to look at her.

This isn’t the first time I’ve ever seen her, but it is the first time we haven’t been in a room full of staring eyes, so now I get to take her all in. She has the most amazing eyes I have ever seen. A colour I’ve never seen in any she-wolf before. I could get lost in them forever. She is tiny with a slim build, yet she had curves in all the right places and them lips. I know what I would like to do with them lips. I want to kiss them, suck them, bite them, I want her screaming out my name through them, she is just amazing in every way.

Shit! Why am I thinking like this? I only want her here because I want to know who she is before I reject her. I crave to know more about her. Also, it won’t harm keeping the other males away from her until I reject her. At the moment, she is mine to do whatever I please.

“Yes” I say trying not to show her I wanted to f**k her here and now.

“Listen, I don’t know what I have done to offend you, but it won’t happen again. I would appreciate it if we could just forget about whatever it is I have done and move on with our lives” she says all this with a speed in her voice. She is trying to act tough, but I can see her trembling with fear.

“What do you think I want you here for? To punish you?” I asked with an evil grin. I can’t help grinning. I’m not trying to a complete bastard, but it comes naturally.

“Nothing has ever ended well being summoned by an Alpha” she says, looking to the floor, breaking eye contact.

“Actually, I just wanna know who you are? I don’t remember seeing you here before I left. I’m just curious is all” I say this with a genuine smile, there is some truth to it.

She frowns at me then bites her lower lip. I want to be the one biting that lip, a small growl leaves me unwillingly. Right now, I’m so glad she can’t feel what I feel, she is turning me on just standing there.

“I was here before you left” she looks confused.

“Oh, I just don’t remember you clearly. How old are you, Ariah, right?” I looked at her intensely.

“Yes it’s Ariah. I’m 17” she replies quickly.

“And when is it your 18th Ariah?” I needed to know

“Sunday” she replied, looking around.

“You look nervous Ariah, do I make you nervous?” I ask as I start to walk over to her.

She takes a few steps back, but that doesn’t stop me. I walked towards her until she reaches the wall. I place my hands on the wall, either sides of her head, looking down at her. Being this close is setting Riley off big time. He is getting so excited and if you wanna judge me by my pants, so am I. I smell her amazing smell of cotton candy and vanilla, it’s stronger being this close to her.

“Do I Ariah, make you nervous?” I had to repeat myself.

“I.. you..” she tries to get her words out but is suddenly distracted by the door slamming open.

Lucy walks in. The look on her face is killer. She has s**t timing!

“Get out” I say to Ariah and she ran out the door, not taking a single look back.
