Derrick and I were now pulling back into the dealership, I love this car I said screaming. "I'm glad you love it, baby," Derrick said kissing my hand. We both got out of the car to walk in the dealership. While we were test driving it the salesman was getting all of the necessary paperwork together. We sat at his desk waiting for him to come back. "Kelsey I think you should text Niyla and let her know you won't be working for her anymore. While we were in the car I sent my attorney an email letting him know everything that was going on and to contact Niyla and let her know I didn't want the house. When we signed the lease I had movers go pick up all my stuff along with a few of your things. Everything is already at the condo." He said waiting on me response.

I was quiet for a while just reflecting on things, I knew he didn't love her so it was easy for him to just move on. But It wasn't so easy for me. I felt bad knowing it would probably break her heart. She was so kind to me when I had no one. But then again Derrick has bent over backward to make me happy. Deciding to take his advice, I sent her a quick message letting her know I quit and I needed a break from everything. After I saw it was delivered I blocked her number. I needed to move on with the next chapter of my life and it didn't include her. I just took care of it I finally said to him. He nodded his head letting me know he heard me.

The salesman came over with all the paperwork and had Derrick sign since he was the one buying the car. Signing all the paperwork took about forty minutes. He handed me my new keys, I grabbed them so excited to drive myself around for the first time. We walked out of the dealership hand and hand as we headed to my new car. Derrick opened the door for me, but before I got in I kissed him on the lips. Thank-you Derrick, you will never understand how much this means to me. I said. "Kels you are so welcome baby girl, you deserve the world and I want to give it to you." He said kissing me again. "Here," he said handing me a wad of money. "Take this and go shopping I noticed you didn't really have much when I brought your things to the room the other night and I'm not taking no for an answer," he said putting the money in my hand. I grabbed the money and stuffed it into my back pocket. He was right I didn't have much of anything. "Go ahead and go shopping for a little while and then meet me back at home." He said. Derrick, you never cease to amaze me. I said getting in the driver seat of my car. We gave each other a kiss goodbye as he shut my door waiting for me to pull off.

Pulling out of the dealership I stopped right before I got on the main road and quickly connected my phone to the Bluetooth in the car so I could play music. The salesman showed me all the dope ass features that came in this car it was so high tech, I loved it. Finally getting it connected I pulled off in the direction of my old neighborhood, I was hungry and I wanted to stop by the corner store before I went to the mall that was close to my old home. I had never actually been in that mall to shop, I would walk past it on my way to school and always dream about going in there to shop. Never in a million years did I think I'd be going shopping this soon. I always knew once I was done with college I would make good money. But didn't think I'd have the things I have now this soon.

The drive was only about fifteen minutes, pulling up to the corner store I parked right in front and turned off my car.  I grabbed the money Derrick gave me out of my back pocket to count it and see exactly how much I had to work with. I counted almost twenty-five hundred dollars. I grabbed only twenty of it putting the rest in the little backpack purse I had. I got out of the car locking it as I walked to the door, there were a few dope boys that stood outside of the store. They knew me from around the way so they didn't say anything to me. People from around here knew my stepfather was crazy as f**k, so no one really talked to me. Plus I wasn't shaped like most of the other girls my age.

   I walked in the store just looking around, I grabbed a few bags of chips a tea, and some sour patch kids. I was walking up to the counter when a sharp pain hit me in the side. I didn't know what to do my vision became clouded by my tears as I heard a voice I never thought I would hear again. "You little b***h, you thought you could leave me huh?" my stepfather said. I put my hand on my side dropping everything I had. Touching my side it hurt so bad looking at my hand to see it was covered in blood. He stabbed me, I was so in shock as tears started to flow from my eyes. My mouth wouldn't allow me to form a complete sentence.

I'm.. I'm ... I'm sorry was all I was able to get out.  " Come on you stupid little b***h lets go." he gritted yanking my arm in the direction of the door. I knew that if he was able to get me out the door I was going to die. I used what little strength I had left and kicked him right in the d**k. As he bent down in pain I took off for the door holding my side. I was in so much pain, I made it to my car as I saw him run out of the store. I quickly entered my car and locked it. He ran up to my window banging and pounding on it I thought it was going to break. Quickly I put the car in reverse and drove as fast as I could, I didn't look back. I ran so many stop signs and red lights, the pain in my side became unbearable. Hearing loud honking that started to go silent as I blacked out behind the wheel.

After leaving the dealership I wanted to go grab a few things for the new house, It came completely furnished but didn't come with things like pots and pans and TVs and things that made the house more personal. So I went to best buy to purchase four new tv's. They would be delivered tomorrow morning. I wanted Kelsey to help me pick out things like covers and pots and pans, when she got home we could just run to target and buy whatever else we needed. I loved doing stuff like this. Being with Niyla she was in control of everything, she never asked for my help and did everything on her own. I was happy to finally do these things on my own.

Pulling up to the condo I parked in the parking garage and headed to the elevators. Stepping on the elevator I leaned against the wall. I was already tired and I still had to unpack all the clothes the movers brought over. Stepping into the condo I was bombarded with boxes everywhere. Damn the least they could've done was put them in the master bedroom I thought aloud as I kicked one of the boxes not really wanting to put it away.

Deciding to just go ahead and knock it out I connected my phone to the speaker playing music as I began to carry the boxes upstairs and put them away. I was finally done putting most of the clothes away about three hours later, I went down to the living room where my phone was to see if Kelsey had called. It had been quite a while since we left each other at the dealership. Seeing that she didn't call, I called her the phone rang and rang just for it to be connected to the voicemail. She must be shopping still I thought to myself. I was kind of sweaty from moving all those boxes so I decided to freshen up. There was no food here so I was thinking of taking Kelsey out to dinner tonight. I jogged up the stairs to the master room. Getting to the room I was instantly reminded why I loved this place so much, the huge windows sold us almost instantly. I laid on the bed just looking out the window, thinking about how happy I was at this current moment. I can't remember a time when I've been this happy in the last five years. Laying my head back I covered my eyes with one of my arms. Eventfully falling asleep.

I woke up about two hours later It was still light outside, but you could tell it was beginning to get slightly dark. I grabbed some fresh clothes out of the closet and splashed some water on my face. Walking back downstairs to the living room I grabbed my phone and took a quick picture.

Seeing that Kelsey still hadn't called me had me kind of worried. I called her three more times with each of them eventually going to voicemail. Remembering the salesman downloaded the tesla app to my phone I opened the app clicking on find my tesla. I was instantly confused when I saw that the car was at a towing company. Clicking to zoom in closer I was able to see the street it was on and the name and number of the company. It was now going on seven o'clock so it was late and I hoped they were open.

Clicking on the number it started ringing, I was so relieved when the man answered the phone. I explained to him that I was looking for my girlfriend and it said that the car was there. As he spoke I thought I was going to pass the f**k out. He said there had been an accident, and the car was fine on the outside but the interior driver seat was covered in blood. The driver was taken to a nearby hospital. Knowing there was only one hospital nearby that she could have gone to I hung up and rushed to the car. I jumped in the driver seat not even putting on my seat belt. I called Kelsey's phone over and over again until I got to the hospital. The worst was going through my head at this point. But I was still thinking about what the man said. He said the car was untouched on the outside but there was blood on the inside. Something just didn't make sense. I parked in the first spot I saw and ran into the emergency room. Excuse me ma'am I'm looking for my girlfriend Kelsey Bennett, I said to the lady at the desk. She clicked a few buttons and typed something. " Sir, Ms. Bennett is still in surgery she suffered a severe stab wound to her side and has some serious internal bleeding." Hearing those words leave her mouth I was in shock. I nodded my head and blankly looked away. I found the first seat I could find and sat down. Tears instantly escaping my eyes, I had only known Kelsey for a short period of time but the connection I had with her was something I'd never had before. I don't know what I would do if she died. She couldn't f*****g die I thought to myself causing more tears to fall. I put my head down in complete defeat. Minutes seemed like hours as time passed.

It had been a full three hours since I arrived at the hospital and still no word. I was beginning to think she wasn't going to make it. Just as that thought crossed my brain a doctor stepped into the waiting area. " The family of Ms. Bennette." He said looking around. I jumped up to walk to him with tears in my eyes. " You are the family of Ms. Bennette?" he questioned. Yes, I am her boyfriend I said. " Sir I am so sorry to inform you but.

My heart sank as the words left his lips, it was as if time was standing still or going in slow motion. "Sir I am so sorry to inform you that Ms. Bennette is currently in a coma. I'm not sure if you know or not but she suffered from a stab wound to her side, a few very important things were punctured and she had some internal bleeding. I've managed to stop the bleeding but she lost a tremendous amount of blood. After the surgery, we took her off of anesthesia but she has yet to wake up. It's been about an hour, her vitals have been holding up but she just hasn't waken up." He explained to me. Taking all of this in was hard, maybe one of the hardest things I've ever had to hear. Um, can I please go see her now? I asked the Dr. " Yes you can, the nurse will direct you to her room."

A short petite nurse came over to take me to her room. I followed her through the double door down the hallway. We turned a few times and we finally arrived in her room. "Here you are sir, she still can hear you so make sure you talk to her. I've seen a lot of people in a coma and the chances of them waking up are drastically improved when they have family here talking to them," she said as she turned to walk away.

I waited by the door for a moment collecting myself, I didn't want to see her like that. Just the thought alone made me sad as f**k. I managed to get enough courage and walked into the room to see Kelsey laying in the bed with monitors connected to various parts of her body. She also had a tube down her throat. I assume it was to help her breathe. Walking up to the side of the bed she really did just look like she was sleeping, she was now in a hospital gown and not wearing the clothes I last saw her in. I pulled up a chair to the side of the bed and sat down grabbing her hand. It was warm to my surprise, for some reason I thought it'd be cold. I rubbed the back of her hand with my thumb as I held it. I wanted to talk to her but I didn't know what to say. I feared that the moment I started talking I would break down.

It was now evident to me that I loved his women, I am pretty sure that I loved her from the moment she bumped into me outside of that clinic. I had never before believed in love at first sight but with her, I could tell that's what it was. The things I felt for her seemed to just flow so naturally. I loved Kelsey more than any other woman I've been with. Just imagining my life without her was unbearable.

Kelsey baby, It's me Derrick I know you can hear me. I need you to be okay baby girl. I can't do this without you. I love you and need you to come back to me. I said to her putting my head down on the hospital bed. From the moment I found out she was in here I never once thought about how or why this happened. Who the f**k stabbed her and how did she manage to drive away.  Baby who did this to you, I swear whoever it is I will kill them. I said beginning to break down.

The nurses came in and out of the room over the next few hours checking her vitals. They kept telling me everything looked perfect but how the f**k was it perfect if she was still in a coma.  I continued to talk with her and tell her stories about my childhood as if she really could hear me. It felt weird at first talking to someone that couldn't respond but I eventually became used to it. Hours had passed and I was becoming so sleepy, all this emotion really kicked my ass I thought. I couldn't even remember the last time I cried. I held her hand and laid my head on the bed eventually letting sleep consume me. Just to wake up a few moments later when a nurse came in to check on Kelsey again. I decided to talk to her some more and tell her how much I loved her. Baby, please be okay, wake up for me, please. I said looking at her face she didn't look as peaceful as when I first arrived, it was almost like she was scared. Seeing what looked like tears flow down Kelsey's face I screamed for the nurse.

My body felt heavy and I didn't know where I was or what was going on. I heard a lot of beeping and voices but I couldn't see anything. It felt like I was sinking, drifting further, and further away. Until I heard Derricks's voice, It sounded like he was crying and sad. I didn't understand why he was crying. I heard him say that he loved me and he couldn't lose me, but what did he mean by losing me. Derrick, I said but he didn't respond. Baby, I love you too I'm right here. I said But he still wasn't responding to me. He couldn't hear me. All of a sudden everything came rushing back to me. My stepfather stabbing me and me getting into the car to drive away. But after getting into the car I don't remember anything. Everything was cloudy, hearing the beeping again but it was now increased almost like a heartbeat but extremely rapid. Trying my hardest to open my eyes I couldn't get them open. Please god, let me be dreaming I pleaded. I was not screaming at the top of my lungs but no one reacted or responded. I heard a woman's voice. She was saying that my vitals looked good and everything checked out. Just then it hit me like a ton of bricks, I was in the hospital. I started screaming and crying harder than before, the only thing that reacted to me crying was the beeping it was getting louder. Am I dead, I thought. My mind was fully aware but nothing else seemed to be working. I was in a coma I finally realized.

Why do things like this always happen to me, why can't I be happy for once? What the f**k did I do to deserve all of these things that were going on.  I felt myself starting to cry again but this time it felt different than before. Now I could actually feel a wet sensation on my face. But I still couldn't open my eyes. "Nurse, Nurse." I heard Derricks's voice say. "Yes Sir? How can I help you is something the matter." I heard a woman's voice say. " It looks like she is crying yo, she is in pain?" I heard Derrick say. " Let me go get the Doctor sir, I'll be back in just a moment." I heard the woman say. " Baby please be okay, wake up for me please." I heard Derricks's voice say. That was the last thing I heard before I felt a terrible burning pain in my side and everything became so bright.....
