Chapter 5 8.30 a.m. Snowflakes fluttered down again as David stood there, staring after the bus that he could no longer see. He wasn’t sure how long he’d been standing there, really. Eventually he turned around and began to make his way home from the bus stop. The snow stuck to his face as he turned the corner of Thwaite Street and into New Village Road. What a strange kind of beginning to the month. Upheaval. That’s all it seemed to be. The odd weather had put paid to him working his overtime on the new building site in Sheffield, but at least there was plenty of renovation work in the city centre.
