My consciousness had wavered in and out, after the first needle was plunged into my flesh. The moment I did regain consciousness, they would inject me again. There were a few occasions where I was able to fake still being under. During one of them, I prayed to the Moon Goddess. I wanted her to protect my pups. I will take whatever these animals do to me, but I want my pups to be safe from harm. I would also fake being under, so I could try to mind-link Nicholas, but also listen to their conversations. One of the times I was faking it, I overheard James and his father arguing. Another man was there, and he was siding with James, so I could only assume that it was the voice of the vampire King.
