Chapter 18

Jake

I woke up to the sound of the microwave going off. I guess Zarina woke up before me and found her tea and food. Good. I look around and she’s not in the room, she must be in the bathroom. I get up and stretch and then her wonderful scent hits me.

“Good morning.” She says walking out of the bathroom finishing her braid.

“Morning baby. Did you sleep ok?”

“Yea the heating pad helped some. Thank you.”

I smiled.

“Well we better get dressed and ready for the day.” I said. “I’m starving.” I finished.

“Why didn’t you eat last night?” She asked while holding her tea. She was already dressed. Jeans, boots, t shirt, hair in a braid, and light makeup. Stunning.

“If my woman doesn’t eat, I don’t eat. Simple.” I replied. She gave a look, that said really?

“What? You were already asleep, I wasn't going to wake you up.” I said while walking into the bathroom.

Once dressed, and fed, we headed down to the SUV to head meeting spot. It was about a 10 minute drive from the place we where staying at to the little rented out meeting room in human terriory. We always use the human terriory for things like this, becuase it makes a netural setting. Once in there it's myself, Zarina, Levi, and Antiono from our pack. The others I have posted watching the place. From the Dawn Rises Pack, their Alpha Shane, his Beta Marco, and two other warriors. Shane doesn't have a Luna yet.

"Alpha Jake, to what do we owe the pleasure?" He said to me but was looking at Zarina. Shilo was not liking that. I was barley in control from Zarina being in heat but now this asshole wants to do this? f**k its going to be a long meeting.

"It seems you are causing a distrubance upon my boarders. Is this true, Alpha Shane?" I said to him with a same hint of authorty in my tone.

"Could be yes. I will not confirm or deny. Now who is this lovely treat you have brought today?"

"Her name is-" Was all I could say before Zarina interrupted.

"Alpha Shane, I am Zarina O'Hare, Luna and head of Alpha Jakes personal secuirty of the Blood Moon pack. Please address me as Luna Zarina. I do not take kindly to your periovse words." She said and held her head high.

"Ah, so it is true that you indeed did get married recently. No mater, you do realize how dangous it is to come to an all male meeting awhile in heat hm Luna Zarina?" Alpha Shane said as a threat.

"You realize that threating another packs Luna can be cause for war?" Zarina fire right back without missing a beat.

"I like her Jake, she is firey." He took a long pause. "Heres what I'll say, if it is me making a mess of things at your boarder, for the sake of your new Luna, I will back down. If it is me. Do we have an understanding." He said, I just nodded my head.

"Good, until next time Alpa Jake." He finally made eye contact with me as he stood.

"It was a pleasure meeting you Luna Zarina." He said and extended his hand. Out of courtesy she shook his hand but didn't say anything back to him.

We decided that it would be best to stay another night and drive back the next day. I could tell that Zarina was still not feeling the best so we just headed back to the house and I let her lay around while I took care of some paper work. On the way back to the pack house no one talked much. It was as if everyone was uneasy from the meeting. We mostly drove in silence, other than the radio playing quitely in the background. We made it back to the pack house and it just a few past dinner time.

"Why don't we eat before we get the bags?" Zarina suggested.

"Good idea." Levi chimed in.

"That's fine with me." I said. We all made our way into the kitchen, just as my mother and father were about to start eating.

"Welcome back Alpha and Luna." The staff said to us and nodded, we nodded back.

"Shall we fix you two a plate?" The head cook asked, in a thick Irish accsent.

"Yes please." Zarina said.

Zarina

We ate in silnce. I had an uneasy feeling that Alpha Shane wasn't behind the mess up there. I just can't shake it. We finish dinner, the men get the bags while I go change. Jake comes into the room with our bags and I'm on my phone looking at painting supplies.

"Would you like to get some new supplies?" He says to me.

"Yeah, someday soon. Maybe next time you go to your firm I can come with? There is a*****e in the human terriory that has lots of supplies."

"My love you can come any time." He says and kisses my forhead before going to go change himself. We crawl into bed for the night thankfull my heat ends tomorrow.

A whole month a gone by now since going north, and things have calmed down. So maybe I was wrong. Its Fall now my favorite time of year. I find myself outside painting more now that I have some new supplies that I needed. Colt, Andrew and Alexandria have been taking shifts with Jake, whenever I'm not with him that is. I'm currently out in the court yard painting that mount scape with the fall trees. There are childern playing on a near by play ground, mums being planted. Workers are setting up for our fall festival this weekend. An older lady comes up to me and is adminring the painting.

"Luna, this is beauitful." She said to me.

"You really think so?"

"Oh yes. This could go for lots of money in a gallery." She said adjusting her glasses.

"Our Alpha has one very talented Luna." She said patting me on the back as she walked away. I nodded my head to her in a thank you. and went back to painting. I don't even know how long it has been until I smell him.

"Well, well, you have been holding out on me." Jake said.

"I didn't know you could paint this good." He said and sat down on the bench behind me.

"Well its no Bob Ross. But thank you." I said.
