Ben's POV
It was weird to hear Hunter in my head again. I thought maybe after I marked Maureen, there would be a chance of him coming back. I just never expected that only mating would do it.
Unfortunately, he said he didn't have the strength to shift until we were fully mated and marked.
I felt him start to pace in my head. "I feel her wolf. She has a wolf."
What do you mean? She doesn't.
"I feel her. She's there. She's just trapped."
How is that even possible? I thought to myself. Of course, my wolf just had to respond.
"Well, she does. So figure it out."
I felt Maureens cool hand against my cheek. "Is everything okay? You looked like you were talking to your wolf."
