“Have you noticed how Glitch and SunHee seem to be bonding?” Darque asked Penny as they entered her office.
“Yes,” she smiled. “Does it bother you?”
“I’m not sure. I need them to concentrate on what they’re doing. Their work is crucial, but they also deserve to have some time together if that’s what they want. I don’t want to see either one of them hurt, and I can’t allow a falling out to interfere with our mission. Something about how this whole thing will end bothers me … not in an angry way, but a sad one.”
“I’ll have a talk with them,” Penny said. “SunHee and I have been having ‘girl’ talks, and it turns out that up until now, her life has been pretty miserable. She likes working here, and she likes you, but she sees something in your face that scares her.”
