My lips parted, my eyes shining, and Jason’s power kept seducing and dominating me while a faint smile tugged his lips up, as if he thought my reaction was amusing. Just like that, I blinked out of the trance.
I blamed this intense reaction on my not seeing him for a couple of days, and then a sudden anger swept over me as the initial relief that he still had the hots for me ebbed away. My dreamy gaze turned into a glare.
“What are you doing here?” I demanded.
He arched an eyebrow. “This is one of the forts I purchased half a century ago. Am I not allowed to walk on my own property and relax a little before a meal?”
