A moment later, I found myself perched on a fallen tree branch, lips parted, eyes wide as I stared up at the vampire standing over me with concern. He was enormous, and even sitting on the ground, he still seemed to tower over me. Oh gods, he was so breathtakingly handsome and lethal at the same time. The moonlight streamed through the trees, catching in his sapphire eyes—eyes so intense that they left me dazed. I fought the urge to reach out and touch his face, to run my fingers over his strong, chiseled features and trace the high curve of his cheekbones.
