I leaned back against the velvet couch, rotating the wine in the glass until it filled the rim. He was sitting facing me, with one arm casually flung over the back of his seat, looking every bit the unobtainable tycoon he was. Except for the way his eyes flickered, just for a second, when I mentioned the company. He smirked, leaning forward to rest his elbows on his knees. "You're suspicious all of a sudden, Stella. Should I be worried?" I forced a soft laugh. "You tell me. Should you?" His grin increased in size, however there was a thoughtfulness to his stare now, an evaluating quality to it.
